I added this sub woofer to my JBL LSR 305's after our first screening of our independent film production. When played back in a theater with full surround system at theater volumes I was shocked at the low frequency handling noise that crept into the tracks from the boom mic that did not register on...
A perfect complement to JBL's powered studio monitors. I use this with the 5" set and it completes the spectrum very nicely. This sub is perfect because it doesn't sound like a sub at all, it simply makes your system sound better.
Works great with my pair of JBL LSR305 and completes the sound system. It is worth the money. If you plan on connecting this to your PC or Mac computer, make sure to get yourself a sound interface. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and it makes the system sound awesome.
A must have for your JBL studio monitoring setup. Really gives you detailed and accurate bass.
I purchased this subwoofer to complete a 2.1 system for my PC with some JBL LSR305 speakers. The normal bass setting is subtle and good overall. I enjoy the XLR bass setting more though as it gives it that extra hit down low.
I am a journalist/filmmaker and needed to get a solid monitoring system on a budget. What's great about this subwoofer is its selectable Extended Low Frequency (XLF) effect. I don't need it all the time ('cause I'm not a club head). But when I need to simulate the low-end felt at the cinema, boom!
Just what I needed to fill out the bottom end of my ns10's
Ordered this for use with the surprisingly good JBL LSR305 speakers. Had moved the 305's to a bigger room. This filled out the low end nicely. Gave the speakers a calmer and authoritative sound like much larger speakers. This being an easy setup since you were provided with cables needed.
Was satisfied with the item.
I paired this with the LSR305 studio monitors, and I could not be more pleased with the sound quality. Easy to setup and excellent sound reproduction. Only drawback is the size. I did not check dimensions prior to purchasing, so it was a little larger than I expected (my own fault).
