Whether you’re a DJ, a budding sound engineer, or just a music lover, JBL’s LSR305 are gorgeous pair of monitors that offer premium performance on a big-box store budget. While there’s plenty of hype around their waveguide technology, we think it’s mostly well-founded.
Few manufacturers have JBL's long pedigree in the speaker business, so when it brings out a new series it's definitely time to sit up and listen. The 3 Series currently encompasses two sizes of powered monitors - there's the LSR308 (£219) with an 8-inch woofer; and the smaller LSR305 with a 5-inch...
These speakers are a fantastic value. Nothing as good as this was possible for this cost even 10 years ago. The bass on these is really powerful, especially given the 5" woofer size!
Attractive Design, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Heavy / Bulky, Tricky To Place
Let me start by saying that I am listening to these monitors as I am typing and I am just absolutely impressed! Honestly, I have not stopped listening to them since I set them up yesterday! I am an editor and these speakers make voice and music sound clear, crisp, and very clean.
-Sound quality-clarity-balance-crisp-not the largest footprint
-not the smallest footprint-no speaker protection (but most pro monitors do not have grills)
These are some nice sounding small studio monitors. I have them in a corner next to a wall which is not a very good spot in the room but as my studio is also my bedroom (which is also pretty small), I don't have much choice in where I can put them.
