Great speakers I matched it with a Yamaha receiver 100 watts I just use speakers for music only so if u want the bomb speakers Purchase These
Has to be one of the best set of speakers in the world today. Fantastic sound quality throughout the decible levels.
I couldn't be happier with the look, price and especially the sound of my L880s. The full range of sound is covered exquisitely, high to low. From MP3s, to CDs and especially Vinyl, I couldn't be happier. I'll let the other critics give you all the scientific decibel junk.
I have listened to predominantly classical music on my new JBL L-880CH speakers for about 3 months, now. These are used in a system with an NAD 326bee integrated amplifier, a Yamaha DV-S5860 SACD player, an Empire 598 turntable (with an Audio-Technica AT-PEQ3 pre-amp), and a Polk psw-505 subwoofer...
I paid more than I intended, glory be...what beautiful, true and accurate sound reproduction. Now,,,I need to keep the total price hidden from my spouce. Twelve hundred is a lot of money, but as they saying goes: Darn well worth it, No regrets, If she finds out, I'll just passify her at night and...
They rock. Ran quite a few amps and AVR's to both pair of my L880's to finally get the sound I wanted. Took about 170 Onkyo watts per channel in the family room, and 120 Harman Kardon watts in the bedroom....much to the dismay of my girlfriend. Super clean sound. Crisp highs....subtle lows.
I am disappointed. Maybe they came defective. But, they don't produce the sound quality that I thought it would.
Hooked these up this weekend, bi-amp style to my new pioneer A/V receiver. Sound is unbelievable. I have heard music on cd and radio that I never heard before, in cds that i have listened to for years. The sound when playing TV is just as good. Could not be happier. Family and friends blown away.
I spent a significant amount of time researching tower speakers. I had previously owned Advent towers, which were fine, but not that great. I was looking for two channel audio use, as opposed to home theater application.
These are great speakers and have really improved the sound in my home. JBL recommends raising the units off of carpet, but those four little spikes they furnish will just poke holes in your carpet. Look at 3/4" or 1" by 5/16" threaded stem carpet casters.
