JBL Charge 4 Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Red)

The JBL Charge 4 is an excellent option for those who want a waterproof, powerful-sounding portable Bluetooth speaker in a moderately sized frame.

  Powerful audio performance with rich bass and crisp, clear highs. Gets quite loud for its size. Waterproof.

If you want to futureproof yourself and get the new JBL Connect+, then this is the way to go for sure. Otherwise, there isn't much difference between this and the Charge 3 before it (though USB-C charging is definitely nice).

  Basically the same sound as the Charge 3, Slightly bigger and heavier than previous model, The buttons that aren't lit up are hard to see in the dark, Vocals in the mids can get masked by bass, No microphone for phone calls

Once in a while MajorHiFi gets its figurative paws on a fine Bluetooth speaker. The new Charge 4 from JBL is one such beast – offering 20 hours of battery life, waterproof design, and a bumping sound. And all for a tasty $149. But is there any reason not to snatch one up? MajorHiFi investigates.

Only used it a couple times so far but the sound is really impressive. No problems pairing it to an iPhone. Always had good experiences with JBL so not surprised that it's so good.

It’s not as loud as I expected but the reviews on the Xtreme 2 had me convinced this would be a better choice....

So far we really like the Charge 4. It paired easily right out of the box. The next morning I had a problem getting it to pair, but since then it's been perfect. I think the sound is good for a small speaker, and it meets our needs perfectly

  Compact, but good sound. Easy pairing with a MacBook Pro out of the box. Volume buttons on top.

It's built well, but wish it was louder and had more bass. Givin all the choices available I think this is still in the top 5 best ones you can get in it's price range.

It does not have speaker phone. I do not know why speaker phone which is a feature of JBL charge 2 and 3 was not included with the latest model . Sound quality is ok
