For the money it is a very good ball head. Not high quality. But price to quality is fine. I'm recommended for professional photographer only.
I used this ballhead to photograph traffic for 1/3 second, giving the traffic a blurred look. I was very happy that the ballhead did not move when I used my camera, and that the parts of my photograph that were supposed to be sharp stayed sharp.
It's OK. Should have spent more to get a better solution. The Lock and drag knobs are both the same and there is little difference. The locking plate does not have the safe features I would want to protect my equipment.
So far so great !The only thing missing is a bubble level on the clamp.
Unless you are having a 400 f/2.8, a 500 f/4 lens or bigger, this will work very nicely with your camera gear. I have used this with a Canon 70-200 II on a 2x extender as well as a Canon 100-400 L lens mounted on a gripped 7D with no issues at all.
I've used Gitzo and Manfrotto heads and I have to say this Induro is just as great...at half the cost! Holds my D300s and 200-400VR Zoom steady and has very smooth action in all directions. I often shoot moving wildlife and the pan on this head is great.
I miss a cam lever lock/unlock like my previous head had. That was easy to have open/tight and see where you were. This ball with a turn knob always looks the same, so it can be easy to let go of the camera before it is completely locked tight.
This is the first real ballhead I've ever bought and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. The locks are very good and it keeps my camera incredibly stable, as it should. The controls are easy and the motion of the joint is very smooth. A very good ballhead.
I've never used a comparable ball head from a company like Gitzo or Kirk, so I can't speak as to how this ball head stacks up against those popular brands. This head is much cheaper than similar heads from other brands, so I was worried about how good it would be.
