Pickups aside, this is still a nice instrument. A pickup trade would be in order, but that's the only downside on this guitar. They did make this guitar in some other colors that the 7621 didn't have, such as this grey nickel and the nice magenta Vampire Kiss - those are the more desirable ones,...

Alright so I personally don't know much about electrics and whatnot, but I'm learning. This is my first purchase and it has felt great. I own another Ibanez Electric/(& Acoustic) and by experience with playing around, Ibanez and Les Paul's have been my favorites.

I bought this guitar from zZounds. ive owned it for almost a year now. theres bubbles of air that formed under the paint job that are chipping away. my guitar has unfinished wood spots all over. the fret ends are very sharp out of the box. the low A string does NOT stay in tune.

I am an Ibanez guitar player for the past 18 years. I bought this guitar because of its looks mostly. When it arrived I was very impressed. When I tuned it up and plugged it in I was blown away.

The famous RG shape, features and thin, fast neck are all here. But my guitar was made from wood that hadn't been seasoned quite well enough, and at some point on the 4000 mile trek from Indonesia to my house the neck shrank. So on arrival it had a hideous negative bow and exposed, jagged fret ends.

Nice guitar for the money. Famous Ibanez wizard neck-still my favorite profile to play. Hot pickups but surprisingly versatile. Nice finish-few flaws but very small. For a 500 dollar guitar the workmanship is very good. Stays in tune well.

Got this guy in the mail, first thing I did was tune in to A and went to town. I absolutely love how thin the neck is, the quantum pickups sound GREAT and the playability and sustain are mind blowing. Now, my only issue is this.

The sound quality is pretty good believe it or not with the stock pickups, definitely have enough distortion to get pinch harmonics anywhere that I can on my Seymour Duncan JB equipped Schecter C-1.

Product Description
When the history of the solidbody 7-string is told, there is one brand that stands above the rest: Ibanez. While other guitar makers experimented halfheartedly, Ibanez committed its full efforts to the development and perfection of this instrument. Now, the Ibanez artist roster brims with the leaders of progressive and heavy metal 7-string players. The RG7421PB exemplifies an artist-driven development process and the guitar building expertise that it yields. Dressed in a refined poplar burl top, the mahogany-bodied RG7421PB sports a rosewood fingerboard for warm, yet well-defined tonality. As the originators of the thin, fast neck, the Wizard II-7 is yet another achievement in player comfort-resulting fretting hand fit that minimizes effort and maximizes your performance. Proprietary Quantum 7 pickups round out this metal mammoth with an entire palette of thick, distorted tone textures.
