HyperX has been on something of a hot streak of late. The Kingston subsidiary is best known for its award-winning gaming headsets but has branched out with an array of peripherals that have, for the most part, been well received.

HyperX’s Pulsefire Surge RGB Gaming Mouse is a well-performing mid-range mouse that works for a wide variety of games. It’s bogged down a bit by the NGenuity software, but the pros far outweigh the cons.

If you are looking for a gaming mouse that has some customizability that is not overwhelming, a mouse that you can add some coloured style to match the rest of your peripherals and a mouse that is under $100 USD, then I would recommend checking out the HyperX Pulsefire Surge.

When the HyperX Pulsefire Surge came out, I was extremely hyped to try it, but I've got to say I am a bit disappointed in the overall result. HyperX put the bar really high with their other products, which is why I was expecting something spectacular, and the Surge turned out to be "decent".

So many gaming mice that I see focus on some kind of gimmick. Epicgear's Morpha X had interchangeable switches and sensors. The Roccat Kone Aimo had "AI-powered" RGB LED lighting. The Pulsefire Surge has none of that, and I think it's a better mouse for it.
