Hoya 77mm Alpha Circular Polarizer Filter

Living at high elevation here in the west, the light has definite blue cast. The 81 A built into this UV filter really helps balance this. Also if you use to shoot Kodachrome, Agfa, or Velvia you will love this filter.

Like other reviews, it gets stuck on really easy - this is because the thread ring is too thin and flexible. When you press on it to remove it, you deform the ring and it binds. I've found the way to remove it is to quickly turn the filter portion and the friction there easily gets the thread ring...

I could tell just by picking it up that this filter was quality. The glass is PERFECT and I have not seen a single error in any of my shots. I'm currently using it with a canon 24-105 L and the lens is just as sharp with it as it is without. No auto focus issues whatsoever.

I have three of these so looking for consistency of results. They are made well and work as promised.

I purchased this filter as an experiment to see if I could get my photos to appear as they do through my sunglasses. I am often disappointed when I pull over to set up the tripod and realize that the lighting is not as dramatic as it appears through polarized glasses. And this filter did the trick.

Its a pretty good tool in a sunny day.

Good filter at reasonable price

Took a trip to Sedona. Used this under blue sky. The polarization effect is very strong to the sky, but has very strong gradient when use at wide angle like 24mm. The effect to the mountain and tree is not that strong. Not enough to remove the reflection. I end up have to remove it.

The Hoya 77MM HRT Circular-Polarizer filter functions well and fit the lens on my Canon EOS 5D MkII. And produces beautiful polarized shots when I shoot landscape or cloud photography.

Had some great sunset shots on day one. Looking forward to more great pictures.
