Great unit for my needs
I am a DIY person. I installed my unit. Followed all the directions and I had a flawless install. Thanks Hauslane.
My unit functions better than expected. My wife said she rarely has to go to speed two and we still have speed three. It absolutely sucks everything out. This unit is a very pretty install with stainless steel backsplash I installed. The lights are awesome. (To remove bulbs turn counterclockwise a 1/4 turn). If there was a negative about this unit it would be noise but for the cfm it sucks the noise is very acceptable. Is expensive but in my opinion well worth it.

Money well spent
I purchased this unit with high expectations and brother it surpassed my expectations in every category. Installation I am a diy guy and the directions were spot on. Due to installing a backsplash it took a little more time. Wife loves the total project especially this unit. The power inception, lights are excellent and the looks stand second to none. My unit requires 6" duct and the unit moved more air than expected. Will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a range hood.

GREAT SERVICE
I bought a Hauslane hood 2+ years ago when I moved into my new house to replace the dirty dated one that came with the house. It has been nothing short of exceptional the entire time l've lived there. I remodeled my kitchen and kept the hood. I realized had discarded some of the hardware and reached out to the support team and they quickly got me everything I needed.
My friend is in the market for a new hood for her kitchen and I quickly reccomended Hauslane. I even bought her the wrong filters, but reaching out to support, they quickly resolved my issues again. 10 out of 10. Thanks again

So many compliments!
We bought this quite a while ago, trying to do this on our own and made the investment into this hood for our kitchen. It took us months to finally get to the point we were able to have it installed and we love it. The look, the ease of controls - I haven’t cooked with it yet because we aren’t moved in, but I love it.

Works well, Difficult to clean. Beeps too much.
Pros:
The Hauslane WM-530SS 30P looks good, installed easily (for a remodel carpenter), is powerful for serious cooking, gives warm but sufficient yellow light, and the grease filters are easy to clean with degreaser and sink sprayer.
Cons:
1. The blower assembly gets funky and moldy in the summer time during standard use, and is impossible to dismount or deep clean without completely uninstalling the hood assembly. Better design could enable standard maintenance/cleaning by the owner, same as grease filters. At minimum, Hauslane should include a diagram or manual for cleaning the blower assembly.
2. Grease filters are flimsy and easily bent when disassembled for deep cleaning.
3. Grease filter easily tumbles out of seat and hand, if you don’t train yourself how to dismount safely. Could damage it, your cooktop, or your toe on the first attempt.
4. Grease filter lock mechanism is plasticky and seems likely to break after some time of standard use. Also has a lot of concealed crannies that accumulate grease during standard use, requiring disassembly to clean.
5. The circuit board housing and wiring is scattered throughout the inside of the hood area, and gets coated in grease during standard use. It’s all too awkward to regularly clean. Better design could place most of this on top of the hood unit (behind flue trim), and keep wiring in the hood space neat and visible for regular inspection/cleaning.
6. Light bulb assemblies have no gasket or seal, so cooking fumes get sucked into the hood at the light assemblies, causing grease buildup on the back of the bulbs and inside the bulb housings. The housings are awkward or impossible to adequately clean when wiping down inside of the hood.
7. A loud ‘beap’ accompanies every button press. There is no volume control. My hack was to stuff a rice grain’s worth of fire caulk into the aperture of the beep mechanism soldered to the main circuit board. No more loud beep.

Eliminates cooking smell and the smoke. Hauslane was recommended by a friend after he saw our initial setup. I immediately put in an order for Hauslane wm-530-pro. It’s been about two weeks since I’ve been using it and it has exceeded my expectations.

Very Good Choice
First, customer service was exceptional the two times that I called asking about this product. Customer support weighed heavy on my decision of getting this. Second, this thing really sucks.....literally. I was very surprised and pleased at the volume of air this hood moves and the lights are just right. Installation was a little tricky, you will need two people to mark the anchor locations, one to hold it at the right height and leveled while the other makes the marks. Ducting to the roof is a whole other story. The only thing I would improve on would be to include a mounting template like you find with microwaves. Stick it to the wall level, mark the holes, and then it would be feasible to install with one person. I was actually disappointed not finding a template in the box. Other than that I am 100% satisfied with it. I am actually recommending this particular hood to a friend.
