Haier 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

I bought it for a basement to cool and dehumidify in the summer, and dehumidify in the winter. Works about like I expected. The basement, which is much bigger than the stated coverage stays reasonably cool. This needs to have a water drain for humid areas like the southeast.

We purchased this Haier in room, portable air conditioner/dehumidifier/fan in the hottest part of the summer this year! We are renting a three-story town-home and the third floor attic area gets beastly hot in the summertime and we were struggling to get any decent cool air flow upstairs.

I would only get this for a small room. It can cool a small room but it doesn't get too cold. It has to be directly under a window and it can't move. This thing it huge with bulky parts which is rooibos it ridiculous considering that it can only be effective in small spaces.

Would diffently buy again. Fan aways on but ac goes on and off to cool to set temp.

  Cools very fast. Very reliable. Easy set up. Had unit for last 2 years. Had no problems with it. Never had to drain water yet, evaporator works well. Cools med room well.

  Kinda on the loud side. But you get use to it, i guess most are loud.

Overall, we have been very pleased with this unit. It cools things down quickly and it has been a lifesaver. Living in Florida and having no AC is awful! We could not afford to have our central air fixed and found this to be a good alternative. The only negative has been the remote.

Despite the bad reviews, this product worked very well for me. I would suggest using this product for small spaces only, don't expect it took cool an entire apartment. Furthermore, don't get confused with the various fan options; only the blue light indicates the A/C is on.

  Could be cooler but its good for a small to medium room.

I've only had the unit for 12 hours so I can't I've it a full 5 stars but it cooled my 13x15 bedroom down from 81 to 72 so I'm extremely happy! The window fitting could have been made better, but that's my only complaint so far.

  Excellent product gives out the cold air that it said it would and all the rest of the features are awesome, just what I was looking for and just as described.

i purchased this in 2012 and I like it a lot. it's works great and having the wheels on it allows for me to move it from room to room. It is a bit loud but that's expected of a portable unit. I haven't had any issues with it.
