The HP Envy Photo 7855 is a solid choice for a home photo all-in-one, provided that you opt for HP's subscription-based Instant Ink Program.

+
Above-par photo quality. Good range of connectivity choices. 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). Fax capabilities. Automatic duplexer.
-
-
Ink costs on the high side if you buy individual cartridges. Slightly subpar graphics quality. Limited paper capacity pegs it for light duty or personal use.
And that, we think, is the Envy Photo 7855’s niche: modest numbers of good photos each month at a low cost per print, if you use it with Instant Ink. If you’re willing to compromise a little on the overall quality of your photos, it seems like a sensible deal to us.

+
Good overall print, copy, scan quality, Easy to set up and use, Small and light, Instant Ink compatible, making for inexpensive photos, Support for Wi-Fi Direct, SD cards, USB drives

Two-tank ink delivery, instead of four discrete cartridges, High cost per page without Instant Ink
At the end of the day, the HP ENVY 7855 is a good printer. We found document and photo quality impressive enough, while scanning from the flatbed and auto document feeder worked as expected. Most people don’t find themselves in the market for a new printer until their old one dies.
If you like to print out lots of selfies and holiday snaps, or creative projects such as calendars and cards, then the Envy Photo 7830 with an Instant Ink subscription could genuinely save you a lot of money.
This uses 1 ink cartridge for black, and the other cartridge is an all in 1 multi-color. This could provide some cost savings depending on what rates they continue to charge for ink. However, you may also run out of ink faster depending on how much you print and what type of printing.

Nice Printer with quite a few of the latest feature sets for multifunction printers. WIFI enabled, I was able to get it setup and connected to my wireless network with ease. The printer has a touchscreen on it with a fairly intuitive menu of options.

A rather small touchscreen, but it is intuitive to use, just not much space to see the options. So far, my biggest pet peeve for this printer is the tray holder that holds paper after you print. It comes off fairly easily and I personally do don’t care for the way it rests in the printer.
Install was a nightmare, called hp help number, they wanted to charge me $110.00 to install it, access to my computer and change some things to install...not happy allowing someone I do not know access into my computer to change things to install printer that didn't even cost $110.00..

Compact design, Easy Controls, Excellent Print Quality

instructions to install need some work..
I had to go online three times to set the computer up -- the information was freely available but I miss the old "Quick Start" sheets that used to come with HP printers. Plan to have (and there are people out there without) internet access while you are setting this up.
Love the printer but wish the wireless connection wouldn't disconnect after 2 hours. I'm not a computer person so I just bought a printer cable to solve the problem. Other than that this is the 2nd HP printer I have purchased over the years and they make good quality printers.

Affordable
This printer does it all - - copy, print, scan, fax - - and does it well! I was amazed at how easy it was to set up. The wireless capability is fantastic. My wife and I have a total of five devices that utilize the printer: a desktop computer, two laptops, and two smart phones.
I bought this printer yesterday will return today. The setup website must have been describing a different printer. Never did find manual setup screen. Tried scrolling thru touch screen and it selects and item as soon as you scroll. Gave up on wireless setup. then I just gave up completely.
Very easy to set up. Took about 10 minutes to connect Mac, 2 phones and iPad. We were impressed with the quality of the photos we printed. Couldn’t be happier with it
Ignore all the one star reviews. You don’t have to be tech savvy to install and use this one. I had it up and running on multiple devices within an hour. The print quality is better than the laser printer I was using.
I was looking at this unit because of the price point but was shocked at all the features and more importantly how well it performs. Really a hard unit to beat. Don't let the price fool you. Great choice.
