A simple, small printer that excels at photos, but is costly to operate
So far so good.Bought this printer for home use.Setup was easy and everything worked the first time I tried it.We have owned many HP Printers and I have to say we have never had a bad one.The one this one replaced was 11 yrs old.Overall, very satisfied with the HP line of printers.
I like that it’s white. It’s style is nice. I like that I could connect it with my phone and I don’t need access to wifi to connect it. I liked the price and it has been easy to use with the HP Smart App. I don’t like that it didn’t come with a manual,an instructional video. I found one off Youtube.
The printer seems to work fine but it literally took hours to make it work, I finally gave up and used the cable instead of wi-fi.
Very difficult to connect. After three weeks of trying everything in the manual and online, I called HP. A technician spent over 30 minutes and had to take over my computer to find and fix the problem. I was so frustrated that I was ready to ship it back.
Setup instructions should not indicate setup to the 4100 printer unit itself, it should guide us to setup to HP Smart Printing; when you go to your computer option "Printers & Scanners" be sure to choose HP Smart Printing rather than printing to the 4100e; also I do not like that the paper load tray...
I run a home base business and needed something reliable, compact, and functional and couldn't have done better than this. The only con for me is the size of the ink cartridge is really small and they run out quickly, but that is because I print a lot too.
It prints incredibly slow, regardless of print quality. But otherwise, its a great printer. Scanner works well, prints good quality documents. Wifi connect works well. Everything is great, it's just really really slow. Worth the money.
I love HP, is convenient, easy to use and I never worry about running out of ink, I upgraded my printer and it was a little confusing at first since there are not many options on the display. It connects automatically, and is pretty much easy to use once is connected.
I think the most difficult is what everyone has been commenting on, which is the setup process. Therefore, all I can say is that I echo those same comments and concerns. Although once it was all said and done, I like HP smart+ and all that it comes with. The printing isn't that slow.
I spent hours and hours trying to get HP Smart to load properly, and to get the printer working with my computer. I also called tech support and spent several more hours. I finally got the printer to work. HP Smart never did load. Printer does work okay now.
