Gopro Karma Light Quadcopter with Harness for HERO5 Black

On November 8th, 2016, GoPro issued a global recall for the Karma drone following cases of electrical failures causing a loss of power during flight. GoPro advises that owners can return their units to GoPro, or their place of purchase for a full refund.

The GoPro Karma is so much more than a drone, giving you video stabilization in the air and on the ground. However, there are better quads floating around with longer battery life and smarter brains.

This is the first drone released by GoPro. When it is functioning perfectly, the following things are still true: the Karma can’t autonomously follow you around. Its battery life is on the low end, and its range is much shorter than its main competitors.

If you’re spending this much on a drone, you certainly need to consider what features you would like. If you want a tiny drone, or the very best image quality, then look elsewhere. If you want something really easy to fly, with some extra video equipment to boot, then this is the drone for you!

Another quality product from GoPro. Everything just works as it should, but be ready to break a few rotors! They supply six in the box, so two spares, but be ready to buy a few more (not cheap).

  Battery life doesn't seem to have advanced since H4. Protective case is a bit clunky for putting the camera in it. Micro SD port not the easiest either.

  So far it has done everything well - but I have yet to test 'waterproof down to 10m' claim!

  I have large hands - it is inevitable therefore that loading micro-SD card etc. is a fiddly operation (for me). However that is not the fault of the camera...

  I feel hs could be cheaper! Accessories are very pricey!

  Light weight. Well designed. Several useful functions (Probably more than I'll ever use like voice control & Burst Mode). Reliable.

  Genuine GoPro accessories are too expensive. Batteries £20+ whereas perfectly serviceable generic batteries can be bought for less than £4. You have to be careful about which brand of Micro SDHC chips you use. Some are incompatible. Use the ones recommended by GoPro.

  LCD touch screen is brilliant and you can see it and change all settings so no need to go into the app

  Quick to start up, excellent for videos and most importantly customisable photo settings

  doesn't come with a charger, usb charging can be slow

  backscreen view, waterproof , voice control very useful, improved audio over old models, easy interface, very good quality vid and photos.
