I have five gitzo tripod, namely: GT1542 eXact, GT2543L eXact, GT 2540FL safari, GT3541L 6X Cabon, and GT4552GTS, each one has its own characteristics:personality and applicability, but the common feature is: stable , strong, and texture.
Gitzo has alway made great tripods, and the GT2543 is no exception. My only complaint is that this tripod relies on a center post to reach a height suitable for a 6 ft tall photographer. That compromise necessitates extra steps to make photographs near ground level.
Bought to replace the 3530ls which while rock solid went underu sed due to it's folded size and weight. Looses a star only for lacking a level indicator and need to buy spiked feet separately.
Perfect in every way. Weight, sturidiness, and height. No negatives.
Versatile and Light weight, do not know what took me so long.
I have not used this tripod much. But, it is well made and it does the job. I intend to use it for nature photography and spotting scope.
Love it, works exactly like I wanted it to...
Bought to hold my Nikon d610 with 15-30, filters and holder.Coupled with a manfrotto xpro 3 way head or xpro ballhead.Incredibly stable even at full extension (which is enormous).
Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Locks In Tight
best there is. really long legs ideal for shooting from coastal rocks / uneven levels. quick to set up and take down. really well made.
Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
I finally decided that I needed a first class tripod to support my photo gear (Nikon D810 and various lenses including the 80-400mm VR zoom). I mainly shoot still photos of all kinds of things and a steady platform is essential. Years ago I had a heavy Bogen tripod that was murder to carry around.
