At review time, I consider the ultimate tripod to be the Gitzo GT3542LS . But, there are times when I need something smaller and/or lighter. And for these times, I need the ultimate "travel" tripod. The Gitzo GT1542T Traveler Carbon Fiber Tripod is what I consider to be just that.
The best there is, hands down. The art of tripod design and manufacturing. Worth every penny.
I almost returned the tripod once I looked at how small it was. something told me not to. I have used it on several sessions and I LOVE IT. It supports my camera with a 70-200mm easily. Awesome product and light as a feather.

I moved to M4/3 from APS-C for smaller gear and form factor. It is VERY lightweight so you will def want to take advantage of the hook when using. I really love the new ground level mechanism. So quick and easy.
Great tripod but wish the feet were removable like the series two and three.
