Product Description
As part of Gibson USA' 120th Anniversary celebrations, the Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway brings together the timeless elegance of the Les Paul Standard in a contemporary package offering optimum playability and tone. The œDC rendition of the Les Paul has long been popular for its extended upper-fret access and contemporary styling; now all that comes together with a pair of Gibson' most popular pickups, streamlined controls for on-the-fly maneuverability, and a lusciously figured Grade-AAA maple top beneath a high-gloss Trans Red nitrocellulose finish. The result is a guitar that retains many great classic elements of its predecessors, while offering the enhanced performance that today' hardworking guitarist demands. The Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway begins with a foundation formed of a mahogany body with carved maple top. Rather than the original single-cutaway design, however, this model sports a double cutaway body for extended upper fret access, with traditional weight relief to further enhance playing comfort. The glued-in Grade-A mahogany neck is carved to a fast, slim profile measuring .800 at the 1st fret and .875 at the 12th. The bound Grade-A rosewood fingerboard touches upon tradition with its trapezoid inlays, and joins in the 2014 celebrations with a œ120th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret. A Burst Bucker Rhythm Pro in the neck position and Burst Bucker Lead Pro in the bridge offer unparalleled PAF-style tone, while master volume and tone controls and a three-way switch make it easy to dial in changes mid-riff. Anchor it all down with quality Grover tuners, a tune-o-matic bridge, and stopbar tailpiece, and protect it in a Historic Brown Gibson hardshell case and you'e good to go.
