The Garmin Vivofit wristband tracks your movement and can be paired with a heart rate monitor, but it's not the most well-rounded tracker.

Attractive design, Large display stays on, Long battery life, Tracks sleep
-
-
Hard to read display at night, No diet tracking, Lacks vibration
The Garmin Vivofit is a fitness tracker that joins the Nike Fuelband SE , the Jawbone UP24 , and Samsung Gear Fit – just to name a few – battling for a place around your wrist. The Swiss company is of course no stranger to making data tracking hardware whether it’s the GPS-packing Edge cycling...

Water-resistant design, Personalised step goals keep you motivated, Year-long battery life

No backlight for display, No Altimeter, Troublesome syncing and uploading data
Garmin's Vivofit activity tracker makes a few trade-offs to balance features, style, and ease of use into a mid-priced device. The results will appeal to a certain crowd, but not everyone.

+
Comfortable wrist-worn activity tracker., Monitors steps, distance, sleep, calories burned., Syncs to computer via USB ANT+ stick and Bluetooth Smart-enabled phones.
-
-
Not particularly stylish., Doesn't count stairs climbed., No natively supported activities other than walking and running., Must actively enable sleep mode.
Year-long battery life and an always-on display make the Garmin Vivofit stand out, but the syncing and software aren't great
The Vivofit is a great activity tracker, but there’s still some work to be done on the software side of things. Also consider the Polar Loop.
Wearables have literally flooded the technology market over the last eighteen months, it seems as if we cannot go a single week without a manufacturer releasing a new model, as the need to gain a one up on their competitors ever increases.
-
+
Easy setup and useful cross-platform application; Accurate sensor information for precise performance measurements
-
-
Lackluster screen is poor in heavy sunlight
The Vivofit is one of the least expensive fitness trackers that includes a screen - most of the competition have indicator lights but need a smartphone companion app to give you detailed feedback about your day.
Summary: Activity trackers are useful when they provide date tracking with little to no effort on your part. Garmin succeeded in bringing a tracker with all the basics in a device that doesn't ever need to be charged up.
Need to ensure that you correctly align the On/Off button to the position on the alternate wrist band, less you will end up swapping out the wrist band twice.

Swapping Bands
First day I got it I set it up with the garmin connect app. All was well and I was in love at first sight. But then I took like 15 steps from my room to the kitchen and the tracker was showing I took 80 steps.
A wrist fitness tracker with a ridiculously long batter life - and a motivation setting.
Sit behind a desk most of the day. This reminds me to get up and move. Strive to meet my goal daily.

Works great, getting two straps (large and small) with each watch is perfect (my husband uses large and I use small so we both have a spare). Not having to take it off when going in the pool is fantastic!
I did a lot of research on this type of product and the Garmin vivofit was always rate on top. The only negative was that people were losing the item because it was falling off their wrist. Unless the sleeve that protects that is new I am not sure how this would fall off.
I love this product! After reading multiple reviews, I decided to go with the Garmin. My favorite features: 1. Waterproof! I swim a lot in the ocean and pool and never have to worry about taking it off. I hate trying to estimate my "swim steps" and now I don't have to.. 2.
Great product, I like to keep active and this is perfect!

All the “pluses” of this tracker: It’s truly waterproof-+ I never have to take it off-+ It tracks mileage on my wrist and on app-+ It tracks sleep-+ It tracks steps/stairs-+ It displays date and time-+ I can hook it up to a heart monitor-+ It’s very secure/stays on-+ It’s easy to read while on my...
i have so far not been able to download info from device to computer. download and set-up all seem successful as well as syncing, but for some reason the data is not recognized. still working on it, but i'll not spend much more time trying to solve. if i can't i will return product.
