This watch sticks to the basics, but if you're looking for a simple and easy-to-use running watch, plus some added smartwatch features, the Forerunner 45 definitely fits the bill.
Easy to use, Week-long battery life, Works with Garmin Coach
Doesn’t have full Connect IQ support, Lacks training insights, Limited additional sports tracking
In terms of bang for buck, the Garmin Forerunner 45 is one of the most impressive running watches out there right now. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive device for this price.
Lightweight, Good value, Music controls
Limited sport profiles, Plastic-heavy build, No real swim tracking
It’s the best running watch under £200 hands down, but at its full RRP, the 45 faces stiff competition from smartwatches
A winning combination of accurate sports tracking in an easy-to-use package., Training plans for events like a 5K or half marathon can be synced to the 45, with the watch guiding you through each session. You can also create your own structured workouts for the watch to guide you through.
There’s no swimming mode on the watch, even though it’s waterproof., The 45 doesn’t have any smart features beyond basic notifications., The design isn’t as appealing as that of the competition., Basic and often inaccurate sleep tracking.
Love my Garmin Forerunner 245! The heart rate monitor is on point with my chest and I use for my treadmill. My old Fitbit was off by 50 beats during exercise. I thought I was going to go in to cardiac arrest when I went over 290 beats per minute! I can exercise without that concern from now on!
I purchased the smaller 45S by mistake, but have not been disappointed in it's performance. It is a tight fit around a larger wrist, but the 45S is more stylish because of it size than the 45.
I’ve had the watch for two months. It’s already not taking a charge when using the power cord. I’ve also done several long runs with others and the paces do not match up at all. My watch was even significantly off of my official bib times during two races.
Omg...love love love my watchShould have purchased a long time ago. I exercise on a regular basis, 5 to 6 times a week and the only problem is it doesn't seem to record my spin bike milage cadence, and doesnt record my stepper exercise. I may have set up wrong.
Great battery life. you’ll want to go up a model if you’re really serious about leveraging the garmon coach feature though. And many of the custom watch faces and apps aren’t available for thus model Still, it’s a great watch for the price.
I bought this watch a few weeks ago and now cannot believe I waited this long to start using wearables. Functions perfectly for runners
I bought this watch primarily for tracking running workouts using Strava. The appearance is excellent (in all black). The diameter is perfect for my medium sized men's wrist, and the height is thinner than older, clunky Garmins.
I bought about month ago is good quality good for running it doesn't count the floors levels ,good looking watch, good for the money
Only use this for running but functions very well and is durable. Tracks more things that I generally use but I am finding ways that most of that info is useful.
Do not buy it! GPS signal issues, first mile running with this Garmin has been a total disaster since I bought it.
