Light Panel Assembly needs a ReDesign
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mounting of the light panel assembly needs to be redesigned. The two screws, one on each end of the panel (and the respective screw holes), that secure the assembly, plus the interior flange, to the hood insert frame do not line up easily and/or are "off" by a small amount and make threading the screws through the assembly and the flange (same holes) into the hood insert frame holes almost impossible. Plus you are doing this upside down! Need to separately attach the flange, then secure the light panel assembly. Screws and screw holes need to line up better!!

Well made, great features, really sucks
Installation was a bit of a project. The unit was quite a bit taller than the one that it replaced, so there was some additional duct work adjustments that needed to be made. However, once installed, it has great features, especially when paired with other GE appliances. The auto-on feature has been very helpful to place my wife at ease, given that we have a gas range and all of the recent press about gas appliances. Although rarely used on high speed, the hood has high volume capacity and clears out the cooking area, and room, quickly if needed. The filter system is simple to use and easy to clean out. The remote control feature is handy, but we tend not to use that much.

Compact, yet powerful
I discovered this product in an appliance dealer showroom, and was pleasantly surprised with the compact size for the cfm rating of 390. That rating keeps it low enough so that makeup air is not required by the IRC code, yet will still move a large amount of air. It's very quite at the lower settings. The high and max settings get a little loud, even with the recommended 8" duct, but when you move that much air, that's to be expected.

Love my oven hood!
This oven hood is spectacular! It does a fantastic job of removing odors as you cook and provides great lighting as well. We just moved into our new home and this is one of my favorite features.

Overall a great range hood
This was purchased for use in our new home being built. The price on this unit was far better than a comparable Faber. The unit looks really good, has great air flow with 4 speeds. If I were to nit pick, I would say that the remote that is furnished with the unit has a very short range. Also, the lights furnished with this unit are on the warmer side. Not sure if they are incandescent or LED, but definitely warm in color. We prefer a whiter light, but that is a personal preference. Overall a great vent hood. I'd purchase it again.

Few caveats
We mostly love the vent hood. It's got good power and the remote works really well. We were hoping to use it's smart connect features but it is either missing the label with the codes to connect or they were stuck on somewhere that would require us to disassemble the vent hood to find it.
The filter screens do rattle even on low, which is only a mild annoyance since our eating area is open to the kitchen and if we need to run the vent due to smokey or steamy cooking it will let you know it's still there and rattling.
