I don't think it works great as when you are searing a steak, and have the vent on high, the smoke comes out the side holes and the kitchen still smokes up and the smoke alarm goes up. I had a guy cut a hole thru the outside kitchen wall for the air flow to go out.

This is a great unit and even my general contractor commented on how well its built. But I do not think installation should be done by someone without much experience.

Pros: Looks great! Lighting is bright a illuminates the cooking surface well. Fan ha 4 speeds and if vented to the outside will do a good job of keeping odors out of the house.Cons: The fan is loud esp.

The description of the product is misleading.....it is NOT a chimney hood but a wall unit. I had to purchase another model. Suppliers were gracious to allow a return beyond the date, but sadly the shipment costs were too high so I now have the two hoods.

I'd recommend this to anyone that is upgrading their kitchen. I have this installed in my new home and so far it has been great. This vent takes out a lot of smell when cooking and definitely powerful enough to take the heat out of your home. Its crazy, but it works!

Installed now for 2 months, Looks very nice in my new kitchen. The fan works very well- has multiple settings. High setting is loud but draws very well, previous fans I've used were just as loud or louder on the high setting.

I love love to cook-I dislike the smell of food lingering in the kitchen or hallway when the door is open. so we got this as a remedy. This GE chimney vent hood, has bright built in lights,memory etc functions, varying speeds when you don't have it on highest setting it senses temperature (hot)...

We have an open kitchen/living area. My hood was important to keep the smell down. I have had this hood for 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. It is a little loud when it is up on high, but to me that is expected, as it works hard to suck all of the odor out of my house.
