Microwave comes on, but does NOT heat
I have lived in my new home for only 13 months and I was quite pleased with this microwave until it stopped heating. At first, I thought maybe it was the door latch that was damaged from someone closing it too firmly, but then I tried heating food again and it partially heated something. Popping popcorn now requires several rounds of pressing the popcorn button. I also checked the settings. It is on the highest setting for heating. I have
never seen a microwave fail to heat like this one. Clearly, it is a total loss. Now I must figure out what kind of microwave will fit and whether or not this one plugs in or is hardwired. Such a hassle!

Disappointed with GE
After decades of using GE products in all our past homes. We purchased a brand new build home & within the 1st 6 months the Start button stopped working, light didn't work and poor ventilation. Builder kept giving us the runaround. GE said warranty expired. The only thing that worked was the express numbers, timer, clock and Convenience Cooking buttons. Then the express numbers stopped working and neither the BUILDER nor GE CARE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT without us PAYING OUT OF POCKET to FIX or REPLACE!!!
I would have given ZERO stars if it was an option, instead of ONE!!!
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY!!! DON'T BUY!!!

Terrible ,cheaply-made model
I never write reviews, but ....This microwave came with our home. We didn't choose it and you shouldn't either. We have been using it 5 days and when I cooked rice in it for 20 minutes the whole unit shut off completely. We tried the breakers, the outlet, everything. Then a little while later, it pops back on and reboots. Hmmm...right in the middle of meal prep. I couldn't use it for anything else if I had to at the moment. The vent is lame. It is as if isn't even working!! It also takes longer to heat. The range light heats the whole oven even when the micro isn't on. I would never recommend this microwave.

Display Screen Damaged
I chose GE Appliances over Whirpool, LG, Samsung, in my new house, gas Range, Refrigerator, Dishwasher machina, because since Child I have lived with GE Appliances, but now after a short time of use, I meet a problem in the Display Srceen of the Microwave and my refrigerator with a loose handle. And it is very embarrassing for me to classify in this way because I take care of my Appliances and they have little use time. At the same time, I make this review so that they can focus on manufacturing better equipment. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback.

The Door Handle Broke Within 18 months
It works fine, but the handle broke off within 18 months of use. The parts of the handle that mounts to the door are plastic and the door just popped off one day while trying to open the microwave. Cheap part, no wonder GE only gives you a 12 month part warranty, it works great for 12 months but not much longer after. We had the same issue with the GE cooktop knobs. They are made out of cheap plastic and by about 18 months of use, one by one, each of the 4 knobs broke.
Pretty disappointed in quality of these GE appliances.

Terrible! Would Not Buy!
Within the first year of owning this microwave, a GE tech had to come out because when I would start the unit a deafening humming sound would go off-I was afraid it was going to blow up. The part that heated the food went bad. Less than a year old! Fast forward a year later and sometimes the unit heats, most times it doesn’t so after only having the appliance a little over 2 years we have to look into buying a whole new unit because it’s not financially worth it to pay a service and parts fee. GE used to be my go-to for appliances because of their reputation and reliability. So disappointed.

Very quiet
Runs much quieter than our last GE over the stove microwave. Seems to vent well. The door is also easier to shut and open as well as quieter than our last GE microwave. But the all the buttons including the numbers buttons are MUCH, MUCH harder to push until they beep than our last one. I suppose we will get used to them eventually, but you really have to push HARD to make them connect. So unnecessary. Why change that feature? Makes no sense. Looks good (white one) over the white stove and oven. Our last GE lasted 10 years before giving out. We hope we get the same from this one.

So I am very impressed with the customer service!
So I purchased a home a little under 2 years ago and with home came this microwave. I unfortunately did not purchase an extended warranty with the home. I had a high voltage transmformer blow on this microwave, but after few calls to customer service and an email to the service department, Fantasia a wonderful rep replaced this microwave for free! I was impressed with their customer service, even though the mic shouldn’t of went out... now the replacement works like a dream and the techs have never seen one do what the original did anyways. It’s a great microwave, especially if you don’t like fingerprints everywhere!
