We have had nothing but major headaches with this. The broiler sensor shorted out and we had a flash fire in the oven. The microwave paint buckeled and peeled but we were told it was safe to use. Finally it cracked apart like a broken eggshell emitting who knows how much radiation onto us.
Purchased this to replace a KitchenAid Architect Series since it had the same dimensions and would be an easy install in the cabinet. It has a lot less features than the KitchenAid, but still seemed to be a decent oven/microwave combo.
The microwave portion of the walloven combo failed after 13 months. The micro wave will not shut off unless the door is left open or the breaker is opened. Apparently this is not uncommon and the problem is due to internal wiring and the control board (according to GE).
After buying this appliance in September of 2010, just after 1 year, the keyboard control unit died - and after a lot of arguments with GE, they replaced it for free. Lately, the paint in the microwave is peeling off. This time around GE is not prepared to replace the unit.
Had to replace a 25 year old oven/micro combo that was also a GE. After looking quite awhile we decided on this unit. Since it is a special order we did not see it until it was installed. It happened to be a perfect fit for the space from our previous unit and looks great.
