Such a gorgeous range!
Sure, it's functional - but WOW, it's pretty. We hemmed and hawed a bit about whether to go with the larger size version or the smaller and I'm very happy that we chose the larger version. I haven't used all 5 burners at once yet, but it's just aesthetically pleasing and makes me feel like a professional chef even though that's quite far from the reality.
The unit is very well constructed. The grates are very solid and substantial. The gas lights easily. It's easy to clean without hidden nooks and crannies for food bits to sneak into. I'm very happy with it and would absolutely purchase again.
A neighbor chose not to purchase this unit and bemoans that decision every time she visits.

Letters dissappear with cleaning.
Bought a brand new house 2 years ago that came with several GE appliances, lower grade of GE products.
The cooktop's Stainless Steel gauge is on the poorest grade, it scratches with a blink of an eye.
After cleaning the cooktop every night I noticed that the letters around the knobs started to disappear, it's a hazard. Can you imagine someone not used to gas cooktops keep pressing the knob where it was supposed to be written "LITE", that person can die of gas inhalation or start a fire at the kitchen.
Of course, the knobs are PLASTIC, cheap looking.
I was going to attach some pictures but I wasn't allowed.

It's a very good cooktop but the knobs are cheap and defective. I wish someone could tell me how to replace these.

Plastic knobs keep detting damaged
This cooktop doesnt have an option for stainless steel knobs. The plastic knobs are easily damaged by moving hot vessels around. Not at all user friendly. $60 worth damage each time you move hot vessels around.

Very Bad Quality
I have seen so many cooktops but never seen this type of cook top where you get a cheap plastic metal coated knobs that rips off in the very first month. I was shocked to learn the knobs were cheap quality plastic material. See the pictures and it looks pathetic in a brand new house. Why would GE do this to save few $$. I wish there was a rating to give 0

Looks beautiful!! Too hot tho
We love the look of it! Very slick & modern look... Works great, burners come on reliably & quickly. However.. it is way too hot! Even on the tiny burner stuff boils on the lowest heat setting. I cannot simmer without turning the heat on & off. I have to slide pans around on the flame also to avoid charring one spot. I can do this with the 2nd smallest burners also, but i dont even bother with the largest 2 burners! I'd go with the lower powered version next time like our prior cooktop was.

I absolutely love my GE gas cooktop! The JGP5036SLSS model has exceeded all my expectations. Not only does it look sleek and modern with its stainless steel finish, but it also performs beautifully. The burners heat up quickly and evenly, giving me precise control whether I’m simmering a delicate sauce or boiling a big pot of pasta.
I especially appreciate the center power burner – it’s perfect for larger pots and cuts cooking time significantly. The continuous grates are another standout feature, making it easy to slide pots around without lifting them. Plus, clean-up is a breeze with the sealed burners and dishwasher-safe grates. I highly recommend it!

Worst cook top
We purchased a new home and this is the product that came with it. This product is poor quality. I have always had gas stove and never have I had an issue. Every time we cook it creates rust stains. It is so hard to clean off. The nubbs have a chip silver paint that chipped off. I also have a hood rang and it is falling apart. I will never purchase GE product. The worst part is that the company will not take responsibility for the poor quality product they made.
