Great look but sensitive to spots and scratches
This cooktop looks great but we've found that any spills/spots are immediately visible on the stainless steel so has to be cleaned after each use. The stainless steel is very sensitive and scratches very easily even from accidentally touching it with my fingernails when swiping it with a cleaning cloth. The burners and grid spot easily and I haven't found a way to clean them well yet. The knobs are plastic and feel cheap and wobbly. Would probably consider using in a rental/vacation property as it looks pretty high end, but not if upgrading a primary residence kitchen where it would be used a lot. Likely replacing this in our home with something better

Disappointing Finish and Installation Issues
The GE 36-inch 5 burners Stainless Steel Gas Cooktop has been a bit of a letdown. It shows every single fingerprint, making it seem more like "stained steel" rather than stainless steel. The finish constantly looks dirty, which is frustrating for a high-traffic kitchen appliance.
The installation process was also problematic. The screw on the right-side strap down was stripped, making it difficult to remove. I had to use pliers to get it out, which added unnecessary hassle to the process.
Overall, the product's finish and installation issues make it hard to recommend for anyone looking for a low-maintenance and easy-to-install cooktop.

Just Good, Not Great...
This cook top came with our brand new house so it wouldn't have been my first choice, if I'm being honest. But, because I'm not about to rip out all of the matching GE appliances that were installed, I have no choice but to use it. Having said that, I will admit that it is a decent stove. The controls are smooth and make it very easy to control the temperature whether you need high or low flame. The downside for me is that it doesn't feel real solid. The grates just kind of sit on top of the cook top in little indentations so, if you slide a heavier pot, it feels like they might fall off. Overall, good, not great.

Looks nice in pictures
At first, the product appeared to be pretty nice. After using it for about a month, here are my thoughts.
The stainless steel is very cheap, I don't like the texture of it, it does not clean up well.
The grates are the cheapest grates I have ever cooked on. Several times the feet have slipped off the base while cooking. I am used to grates that "lock in" and will not move, these grates can and will move.
Just a note, we did not buy this unit directly. It came with our new build house, so the builders will put the Cheapest "nice stuff" if that makes sense.

Extremely Dissatisfied
Stove top scratched on day one. Anything scratches it, napkins, paper towels, any pans that grace the surface. I tried cleaning before and after use and it’s already showing stains. I’ve had it for four weeks and it looks like it’s been used for many months. Handles are so cheaply made. First GE product That doesn’t meets standards. Highly disappointed.

The original gas cooktop we had was 60 years old. It was a 4 burner, pilot lighted cooktop that had finally only one burner working correctly. So the new GE 5 burner gas cooktop was like eating a neanderthal new car......there just is no comparison. We love this cooktop !!! I am sooooo happy with this model. Words can not describe our joy !!! I would recommend GE gas cooktop to anyone. Our kitchen is small, yet this 5 burner model fit excellently.

Broken cooktop
I've had this cooktop since April 22, when I closed on my new home. The cooktop has never worked 100%. Two repairmen have been to my home to repair it and it's still broken. They are telling me that they are waiting on parts. I've asked for a new cooktop and they say no, I have to wait for the parts. It's August 2, 2022 and the cooktop still hasn't been repaired. I'll never purchase anything else from your company.
