Replacement Fridge
Have had this fridge for about two months now and I am really enjoying it. This replaced a top freezer 20 cu ft fridge purchased in 1996. I love the lights, especially the light in the freezer, and the filtered water going to the ice maker and the dispenser. Ice is so much easier to reach in this one, and I love the smaller doors. It is working great on maintaining temps in both refrigerator and freezer section. I love the color, too. My only con is that it is a little loud when it is running. I am so pleased with the color and the quality that I am thinking about getting this color in range and microwave when they need replacing.

Small freezer
You loose a lot of large shelf space with this Fridge. The shelves are not very deep, half the depth of a normal size fridge. But makes up for it a little with more door space I suppose. The freezer drawer is super small, not really enough room for much of anything, and it seems the bottom drawer is tapered in at the bottom so it makes it even smaller. Other than that, I love the slate color of stainless steel, which is fingerprint resistant. But now I know next time get the full size, not counter depth. Pictures online make it seem so much bigger than it truly is.

We love our new fridge! We think the color, style and size is perfect. We love the inside water dispenser; it's discreet, and works well! The inside adjustable shelves are great, including the sliding shelve to make room for tall items. There are only two things we think could be better. The drawers inside get stuck easily and make it hard to push back in. It's a minor issue! And when using the water dispenser, the motor inside is very noisy, but that may be because we the fridge in the open not surrounded by cabinets. We are remodeling, so maybe that will go away once we get it in its correct spot! Overall, it was a perfect purchase for us!

Terrible lower shelf freezer design
Absolutlely terrible freezer drawer design. Just got this refrigerator and only after install and began using did I discover that the two lower freezer drawers open together when the bottom section is opened. If you just want an item in the bottom section you have to push the top drawer back into its slot. Moreover, when the ice compartment is automatically filled that top drawer becomes heavy and its momentum when opened can send ice cubes out of its container. It seems this is common with this type of GE refrigerator when I looked at others today in the showroom. These drawers should open separately. Don't buy.

Noisy and wobbly bottom freezer drawer
This GE refrigerator does not seem like a good value for the price that it commanded. When it “runs”, it has a freezer noise, and a refrigerator noise. The sound of the refrigerator running is average. When the freezer runs, it can go for 45 minutes and sounds like an electric lawn mower in the kitchen. I’m also disappointed in the quality of the bottom freezer drawer. The track seems week and requires two hands evenly spaced, using even pressure to get the drawer to pull out smoothly. I’m concerned that this will be the first thing that breaks. Overall, I’m not happy to have this new refrigerator in my kitchen.

Good option for a tight space
Overall I like the refrigerator. It has a really nice finish and maximizes the very limited space we have to place it in. I have two complaints though. 1. The plastic drawers are very cheaply made and do not open and close smoothly. I'm pretty certain they will break within 6 months. Pretty disappointing for a GE product. 2. This is very minor, but there is no designated space for butter. There is a tiny shelf at the bottom of the door that is pretty hard to reach because of the deeper shelf right above it. I do like the water dispenser on the inside of the fridge, and the retracting shelf that allows for taller items when needed.

Could be easily improved
I really like this refrigerator. The counter depth of it helps prevent losing food into the back of it as most everything is almost always visible. It keeps stuff cold. The water fill works nicely. It makes ice. Basically, it does what it should.
My issues come with the quality and feel of things. I wish the drawers would slide easier and stay square. Everything that slides just wants to twist and bind and not really move nicely.
For the money you pay for a new refrigerator, I expect these issues to have been over come in the design process. But alas, that is not the case with this one. It leaves me disappointed in the brand.

Love it!
Love the slate color and French door style with bottom freezer! We seem to be condiment people so all the storage on the doors is perfect for those, and the adjustable shelves are great too. This is big enough for us as empty nesters and honestly we couldn't go much bigger in our kitchen. Luckily our old unit could be moved downstairs to be a 'beverage' fridge and is helpful for additional space at holiday/party time - otherwise this size would be too small for us as we love fresh produce and I cook most of our meals from scratch. We also live in the 'boondocks' so I have to do grocery runs once a week or two and can't stop at a store multiple times a week.
