I love this fridge!
I've only had this fridge in place for 1 day, but I'm really happy with my choice to go back to a unit with the fridge on top, freezer on the bottom. When we bought this house 7 yrs ago it came with a side by side fridge, which I never liked. Although I lost freezer space going to this model, its not an issue as there's only 2 of us. I really like the inside door compartments, and the fact that due to the French door style fridge, vs the side by side, the shelves are not deep so food doesn't get hidden in the back.... I also have much more space in the fridge area than I did with the side by side. Another decision I'm happy with.

Good, but room for improvement
I love the internal water dispenser and the flexibility of the shelving layout.
Areas for improvement:
The inside fridge drawers don’t seal when closed, there is a gap between the drawer and the shelf above.
The door alarm does not work for the freezer. There have been a couple times where I thought the freezer door was closed only to find hours later it had not sealed properly and the whole space covered in frost.
The freezer door mistake leads to days of the fridge being extra cold and freezing items.
I wish I had gotten the full depth version, the counter depth is pretty shallow and the freezer space is pretty limited.

Great Price, consider features before buying
Overall quality is great and price is good as I wanted a French door fridge without all the extra digital nonsense packed in by other brands for an additional $300. However internal water dispenser is not as convenient or easy to use as i thought. The push button takes a good deal of coordination and physical effort compared to the paddles offered on external dispensers. Compounding the issue, the 33" fridge actually requires 40" clear or counter space to fully open both doors. Our kitchen had a 35" space up against a wall and we cannot fully open the left door which is the same side as the dispenser.

Its appearance is great, it fits my kitchen space, it keeps the food cold, and the storage space is good for a two person household, but it's LOUD. If you want a companion, it will hum to you and if you like the outdoors, it makes the sound of crickets and the occasional owl. I waited a long time for a black refrigerator to fit my specifications, so I'm disappointed with my purchase, but don't know what I can do about it. I do not have a water hookup, so the noise is not coming from the ice maker or water dispenser. I inspected the unit before accepting it at time of delivery, but you can't inspect for noise until it's unpacked and plugged in. At that point, it's too late to decline it.

terrible freezer!!
The freezer section is too small, but the difficult part is having the upper freezer drawer ride on a track from the larger drawer below. It isn't smooth, sometimes the drawers open together and often they don't... It is hard to see and remove things from the lower freezer drawer. Also, I would rather have no snack drawer and have larger vegetable and fruit drawers!! It's as if healthy dietary habits were not considered in this design. I was limited by total frig. height or I would have gone with another brand.....I had an older version of this GE for 16 years and loved it......

Good product with a few cons
This refrigerator was used to replace my 19 year old GE that died suddenly. I like the French door model with a few take backs. One, the fresh meat storage area requires that both doors be opened to access the contents. Two the cold water supply is a bit awkward to use and habitually drips after removing a glass. Three the divider in the freezer area is very flimsy and will not stay in place selected. Other than that I feel this refrigerator will work OK for me and the con items I listed would not be a deal breaker just irksome.

Great Features!
We bought this model to replace our old 2-door GE with the freezer on top that we loved. It was still going strong after 21 yrs, but starting to show signs of wear. I love the design and special features of our new one, like the filtered water dispenser, ice maker and adjustable shelves. Plenty of room on top for all our needs. But I find the bottom freezer too small for us. Not enough room for frozen pizza, 2 half gallons of ice cream, or stocking up on frozen sale items. I will have to change the way I shop. Other than that, I feel it's a high quality, beautiful fridge and hope it will last as long as our old one!

the handkes stink
what a nice refrigerator/freezer. the features are very nice. the water filter is so much better than our last refrigerator. However. the way the handles FAIL to attach makes this a huge headaches. we have put enormaous amounts of pressure on teh handles to make them "click" and even when the SORTA click when you grab a handle if you have ANY up or down motion, the handle pops off. what a crappy design. no screws or anything to secure it. tempted to mark it down another star as I type this because it irritates me so.
