First online purchase due to the CORVID-19 pandemic. I grew up with GE products and never had an issue. Until now. My refrigerator was delivered this morning. I looks great and is a perfect size for me! Fans and motor were loud when it was plugged in. I loaded my groceries into the refrigerator and freezer. Left it alone for the temperatures to adjust. Four hours later the motor and fans are still load and I can hear them down a long hall and at the far end of my house which is about 65 to 70 feet away. I'm not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight.

This is the base model for this size. Lack luster. Only one control, 1-5 setting. The freezer is fine but the lower refrigerator section gets only around 40 degrees at the max setting. After one month, we called for service. The tech went straight to the back panel of the freezer and opened it. There is an adjustment for the amount of air to flow to the lower section (from the back side). I was hoping this secret adjustment would do the trick but NO, No, no. Food is still lingering around 40 degrees at the 4 setting. Also, the space is very limited.

Nice refrigerator
We replaced a 16 year old GE unit that was still functioning ok but we needed a bit more interior space. This item was basically same dimensions as our old one but somehow we went from 18.6 cf to 19.2 and can really notice the difference. Easy to see everything inside at a glance, with the exception of the very bottom door shelf which is hidden by the larger shelf above (just remember what you put down there!!) We really don't miss the freezer light at all; we thought we would but it seems top-freezer units are no longer made with lights in the freezer. Have only had the fridge for a couple days now but happy so far!

Inside features include glass shelving and door mounted plexiglass holders. Much heavier than a similar unit made by another brand that we own. Had initial trouble with ice maker but it now is working fine. Outside SS finish on door was perfect but box had slight imperfection on top corner that I touched up with black marker. Refrigeration unit runs quiet but takes a few days to adjust to changes in temperature. Temperature fluctuates between 42-50 degrees when set at recommended setting. Freezer not as cold as my previous GE but cold enough to freeze most food items. Ice cream is softer than last GE refrigerator I owned. Handles are heavy duty/strong, no plastic. Door opens smoothly, closes by itself.

Great interior design, but weak seals
I like the interior space distribution. However, the freezer seal came with 1/8" gap that showed light when I place a flashlight inside. Neither of both seals make full contact with the frame. After a few minutes of trying to get the freezer seal to make contact with the box, I was able to make it close the huge gap, but still, I am not pleased with the way it looks (wavy).

So disappointed
After receiving this GE refrigerator as a replacement for the other GE trash I bought. I am noticing that this refrigerator is even worse. It just doesn’t get cold. At this point I think GE should just not make appliances anymore.

Could be better!
I feel that the sides of the refrigerator should have more spots to put the shelves.
The controls for the coldness of the fridge are in a very inconvenient spot front snd center. It inhibits the use of tall containers to be either left or right of the control box. Very annoying.

Too noisy
After the delivery men plugged it in, we became aware of the drone-like noise coming from it. We realized it was working to get the box down to temperature and 10 hours later it stopped. I had many a refrigerator in my life, but they were not as noisy as this one.
