The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R has more light-gathering capability than any lens in the Fuji mirrorless system, and captures images with crisp details.

Quite sharp. Capable of extremely shallow depth of field. Physical aperture control. Minimal distortion. Even illumination.

Can be slow to focus. Omits optical image stabilization. Manual focus by wire. Not weather-resistant.
This telephoto lens for the Fujifilm X-series interchangeable lens cameras, may seem familiar, as it's virtually the same as the current 56mm f/1.2 , which provides a field of view equivalent to an 84mm lens on a 35mm camera, sports a very bright f/1.2 maximum aperture and costs around £750.
Among portrait shooters, the 85mm f/1.4 or f/1.2 full-frame lens has been the time-honored holy grail of glass. Allowing dreamily defocused fore- and backgrounds that set off the subject to great effect, and the perfect focal length for flattering the human face, these lenses have found their way...
Fujifilm's ultra-bright prime is a killer portrait lens, but is it worth $1,000?
The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD is a unique portrait lens that uses a special filter to smooth backgrounds, but it carries a hefty premium over the standard version of the lens.

Very sharp. Capable of extremely shallow depth of field. APD filter smooths background blur. Physical aperture control. Minimal distortion.

APD filter limits light gathering. Expensive. Omits optical stabilization. Can be slow to focus.
This lens is a fine addition to the X-series lens line up. It is incredibly sharp, whether you're shooting with the aperture wide open, or not. The APD filter, which sets this lens apart from the standard 56mm f/1.2 is a really interesting addition, which truly helps to improve the appearance of out...

Slight loss of light due to APD filter makes the choice of this lens a creative decision over the standard lens

The Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R mimics pretty much the behaviour of the Fujinon XF 23mm f/1.4 R - and that's a good thing really. It combines an ultra-large aperture with high quality results.
This telephoto lens for the Fujifilm X-series interchangeable lens cameras provides a field of view equivalent to an 84mm lens on a 35mm camera, sports a very bright f/1.2 maximum aperture and costs around £890.
This lens is a fine addition to the X-series lens line up. It is incredibly sharp when stopped down, and performs well wide open too. The build and handling are also of the same high standard we've come to expect from Fujifilm.

Very good sharpness in the centre at maximum aperture, Outstanding sharpness across the frame when stopped down, Lightweight, Traditional design, Excellent build

Out of focus backgrounds can look a little 'busy' in images taken at close focusing distances
BEST LENS, great details, love it
Really like pictures with this lens, good thing that I listened to bh rep who said there was miles of difference from 60mm lens that was cheaper and my first choice
Used it on my X-T2 at a portraits photo workshop last week, great bokeh, separation, sharpness.
I'm primarily a prime lens shooter and use this lens for portrait photography among many other things, but mostly what it is intended for. This has quickly become my favorite lens in my lineup, mainly because of it's insane sharpness and equally as crazy 1.2 aperture.
This is the best portrait lens I've ever used. If you do portrait photography, this is a lens you must own.
Go for it. No more comments.
I purchased this lens with the X-T2. This is an amazing piece of glass. It captures every detail. Images are magical, even shot in RAW (out of camera) almost no corrections needed In Lightroom. Lightroom is getting better at handling RAW Fuji files.
