The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 23mm F1.4 R is a classic wide-angle lens with impeccable sharpness and an f/1.4 aperture.

Sharp from edge to edge at f/1.4. Minimal distortion. Manual focus clutch. Aperture ring.
-
-
Lacks stabilization and weather sealing. Pricey.
This wide angle lens for Fuji X series interchangeable lens cameras provides a field of view equivalent to a 35mm lens on a 35mm camera, sports a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture and costs around £780.
The Fujinon XF 23 mm f/1.4 R, tested here by us, must get a really positive assessment. Still the situation is hardly so rosy if you start comparing the price of that lens to the prices of its rivals.

solid casing,, excellent image quality in the frame centre,, good image quality on the edge of the frame,, proper correction of lateral chromatic aberration,, slight spherical aberration,, imperceptible distortion,, defocused images pleasing to the eye,, very good work against bright light,, fast...

significant lateral chromatic aberration,, huge vignetting near the maximum relative aperture,, a bit too high coma
The Fujinon XF 23mm f/1.4 R is a highly attractive addition to the Fujifilm lens lineup. It combines an ultra-large aperture with high quality results. At large aperture settings the center quality is already pretty high whereas the borders/corners are at least on a good level.
Sporting the same field of view as a 35mm lens does on a 35mm camera, this lens should be a popular choice for the wish list of many Fuji X-series camera owners, especially with that fast f/1.4 maximum aperture.

Extremely sharp stopped down, Very good sharpness in the centre at maximum aperture, Lightweight, Useful hyperfocal scale, Excellent build

Not as sharp towards the edges of the frame at maximum aperture as you may expect
I own both the 23mm f/1.4 as well as this lens. For those of you deciding between the two, I hope you find this helpful. The 23mm f/2 is a fantastic everyday lens. It is quick to autofocus, it is quiet, it is small and inconspicuous, the IQ is excellent, and it is weather resistant when paired with...
I built my photography portfolio on a 50mm and knew upgrading was key. I LOVE Fuji and couldn't be more happy with the purchase!
The f2 trio of lenses are great for image quality, focus speed (!!!!) and value!!!!
This is an excellent, quick & quiet focusing, sharp lens, smaller and lighter than the f/1.4 version. This is excellent for travel and certainly for all around use. Weather sealing is a great bonus for when it's anything less than sunny and dry out there.
I haven't had it that long, so I can not give a detailed long term review. Not sure how it stacks up to it's faster sibling the 23mm f1.4. The f1.4 did not fit my needs like the f2 lens. Small, compact, very fast auto focus, and weather sealed.
This is the lens that is on the Fujifilm X100T that I have been pleased with for 3 years. I got this one to use on the fujifilm X-Pro2 camera. A perfect pair if you need a medium wide angle lens. The crop factor gives you a 35mm lens on this body. Very pleased with it.
This lens and the 35mm f2 are similar in build quality and function. I have been enjoying using this lens so far, though I've only used it twice now. This lens seems solid, though I would say that it lacks the "magic" of the Fuji 14mm f2.8.
