Medium format cameras are typically big and expensiveThe Fujifilm GF670 is a little less so at around $1,600 and about 35 ounces. The GF670 will accept 6x6 or 6x7 film and switching between the two is as easy as flipping a switch.
Fujifilm's GF670 Professional is a 6x6/6x7 medium format camera in a compact case, making it idea for landscape and travel. Peter Bargh packs one in his day bag to see what the beast is capable of.
No frills simplicity, Lightweight but very robust, High quality lens mechanism, Accurate exposure system
More space in lens chamber (so filter could be kept attached) would be useful, 80mm a bit too standard, a 65mm would have been a better choice personally
Well this is a positive review because I really like the camera. It's a joy to look at and use.I've only shot 8 rolls of film through it, and have not yet found anything I don't like.Whoever designed it did a great job.
Rarely you find a medium format camera as versatile as the Fujifilm GF670. I say this because I have travelled with this camera in crowded places without any hassle. When folded it fits perfectly with the Fujifilm leather case in my messenger bag.
I love medium format film. Super quiet shutter and sharp images.
Easy to use and great lens. Shot two rolls so far, very hard to hear the shutter sound.
I've had it for over three years and I have it on me almost every day. The bellows mechanism and the cover feel a bit flimsy but they held up so far. Generally it feels a bit cheaper than what it is and how well it works. The rangefinder is superb, everything works really well.
This is my go to camera, I carry it everywhere with me. I have taken it to 6 continents and countless countries. I would suggest it to anyone. The camera is extremely compact, and it seems to be completely solid. The lens is tack sharp, SHARP! The meter is accurate.
This camera delivers medium format quality that can fit inside a jacket pocket! The whole idea of a 6 x 7 camera that is actually pocketable is just crazy! Yet the other day I was out walking around with this camera folded up inside my jacket pocket. Truly a delightful shooting experience.
I own three medium format cameras, but the GF670 is my only modern one and only rangefinder.Ergonomics are an individual matter, but I find the camera very fast and comfortable to use in landscape and portrait orientation. Getting used to using my thumb to turn the focus wheel took only a few days.
Have been using the camera almost every day for the past two weeks and i am very happy with the purchase.I love how compact it is for a medium format camera, at first i thought the bellows system could become annoying but to be honest hasent even been an issue.
I wanted something I could carry day-to-day without having to carry a bag. Also will be using the GF670 along with my Mamiya 7II when I travel.* Compact size and great lens. GF670 allows me to carry a great medium format film camera in my bag so I have it when I need it.
