Used it at a wedding. Have to return and wait until Profoto hopefully makes an A1 for Fuji!Reasons:1- Color inconsistent between shots from completely white to completely yellow.2- Head is too small, smaller than Nikon's SB-9103- SLOW recycle time, loosing shots in between.
We are very pleased with the new EF-X500 flash. It fills a void in the Fuji accessories very well. It is super easy to use from the back LCD screen when you reassign one of the four back toggle buttons to Flash.
After only a short time with my new EF-X500 flash I can honestly say this is the best flash I have ever owned for any system. Build quality is far better than the big C or N companies flashes. Doesn't feel like a fragile toy like so many others.
The controls are easy to use, but more importantly the flash fires at the correct intensity every time. I have been using a Fujifilm EF 42 and about every 10 shots I will get a photo that's completely blown out. I jiggle the flash on the hot shoe and I'm good for about another 10 shots.
Whilst I haven't used it much It is just what I wanted. It is well made, easy to use and provides the functions I want. Having just switched to a Fuji T-X2 it works well with the camera.
The flash is fully integrated with the Fuji Xpro2.Settings can be controlled from the camera menu. A major omission is that Fiji does not offer a TTL off camera cord or radio control. Imust add a comparable hot shoe flash or radio control to use the EF-X500 off camera.
This is a great flash if you use a Fujifilm X-T2 or other Fuji X System camera. It's interface is professional and easy to use whether you use it as a slave/master/shoeflash. What can I say, this is a flagship flash that was designed for professionals.
Nice flash, works very nicely with just a couple of wish they had it do that thoughts. Overall, really good flash and just what the X-t2 needed.
Works well with recently purchased equipment. No issues at all.
Fuji was way behind on its flash development as all of X shooters know. I bought this the first time when I was in Singapore over New Year's. It has a Guide number of 50M, so it is about 160', which is more than adequate for 90% of what I need and when it is not, I gang 2 together.
