We replaced a 6 month old side by side, that was also 26 cu ft. This fridge easily holds twice as much as the side by side! Well thought out placement of the ice maker, means theres plenty of interior room, & storage on the left door. The water filter is easy to access & change.
I love this refrigerator for the ease of storage. However it is rather noisy. The refrigeration motor is loud and with the ice maker in the top ice dropping sounds like a bomb dropping in a quiet house.
I would have given it a 4 stars out of 5 if it wasn't for the brushed stainless steel finish! I mean the finish literally attracts (for loss of words) finger prints! You need to wear gloves if you want this ref to look good.
This was a replacement of a side-by-side Frigidaire and it is SO much bigger!! There are many shelf options, it is very deep and has wonderful lighting. The freezer with extra slide-out tray is enormous and so convenient as a drawer! Visibility is SO much better than in a side-by-side!!
We first purchased a Whirlpool SS French Door refrigerator; however, the ice maker was in the door and never worked. On the day the repair was to be made, the whole freezer stopped working. Abt offered to replace it with the newer Whirlpool model.
Everything I expected and more. I love all the room and the many ways to arrange the shelving. The freezer is nice and large and the pull out shelf holds a lot of things. It is a little noisy when it runs, but nothing that can be heard throughout the house. It really crushes ice..
We really like this refrigerator. We went from a side-by-side to The French door style with the freezer on the bottom and we really like it.
I was hesitant to get the french door type fridge, always had a single door. But I love this refrigerator.
Only drawback is the hinges in the doors need lots of clearance to open fully.
Overall the fridge is pretty good but there are some issues. The ice maker/water dispenser is not as good as other models. It takes along time to make ice and for some reason the water is not cooled before coming out. The freezer design is good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
