My first wearable products were bands, the Microsoft Band and Jawbone UP trackers, but over the past few years I've moved on to using watches. Bands are generally designed for daily activity tracking while watches tend to be more powerful.

  • +

Lightweight and comfortable for 24 hour wear, Integrated GPS, Detailed sleep and heart rate data, Fitbit ecosystem well supported, Fitbit Pay support

  • -

Limited battery life when using GPS, Display tough to see in some conditions

For many people, Fitbit is synonymous with fitness trackers, but the company has faced new challenges from smartwatches in recent years. The Fitbit Charge 4 signifies a change, even if it doesn't look too different from its predecessor.

  • +

Battery lifeEven with an always-active connection and notification mirroring, I got more than seven days of usage out of the device without GPS tracking., Built-in GPSCombined with the NFC payment service, the band makes it possible to stop by a bakery or café when you're out running without...

DisplayWhile the necessity of a colored interface on a fitness band is debatable, competitors like theGarmin vívosportand theXiaomi Mi Band 4reach similar battery life with colored OLED displays and lower prices.

Still the best fitness tracking band for the active person, the Fitbit Charge 4 adds accurate GPS tracking to its roster of good heart rate insights, best-in-class sleep tracking and Active Zone Minutes. With this mix of features, it’s now pretty unique on the fitness tracker market.

I can’t help but wish the Charge 4 was $125 instead of $150—especially since the Versa Lite is just $160—but if you’re patient, you’ll be able to get at or near that price soon enough. If you can get it on sale, that’s just a bonus.

  • +

Top-notch fitness, health, and sleep tracking, Excellent battery life, even with GPS switched on, Standard GPS and NFC add value

  • -

Plastic body is a downgrade from the metal Charge 3, No third party apps or music storage

The Fitbit Charge 4 is well worth the $150 price tag, it is a premium fitness tracker that packs many features into a beautiful package. The embedded GPS introduces wonderful opportunities for standalone use, though it needs some polishing.

I constantly have to reset the device and/or the blue tooth connections of my computer and iPad. Also, the sleep tracker does not always record the data, even if I have over three hours of rest as it recommends. I had similar issues with my Charge 3, but nothing close to this extent.

My Fitbit Charge 2 finally started to have problems with the screen after many years of enjoyment. So, I was happy to upgrade to the Charge 4. However, though it has many nice features, for everyday function, it can't compare to the Charge 2.

This is my second Fitbit. The Charge 2 has exceeded my expectations. I’m very disappointed that my iPhone no long supports the device without charging to utilize the sleep and heart rate which are two of the features that were the deciding factor in make the upgrade to the Charge 2.

I bought this a few months ago and Its everything that i could need. The Added GPS tracker is very comparable to my iphones tracking. The watch seems to cut corners a bit by rounding them off when tracking. The heart monitor is just as accurate as any other track out there.

I have never owned a smart watch of any kind so I did a lot of research then just jumped in with this one. I am pleased with my purchase. Not only does it do all that I expected of a fitbit but I can receive a text or fb notice. I can control Spotify as well.

I love this fitbit charge. I was using a fitbit zip, but they no longer make them. I tried the Versa but it was too big. I love the slim size of this one and it was super easy to set up. I also like that the bands are easy to change out. It only needs to be charged once a week.
