After much research I purchased this Q1 and cannot believe the difference it makes. Great quality construction and paired with my Sony Walkman, laptop, or tablet it allows me to hear things in the music that I could not hear before. Will be buying a Fiio X1 in the near future for the perfect combo.
perfect for a portable dac/amp, especially for a laptop. it solidly feeds out 24 bit audio daily into another amp. It doesn't even need a driver with windows 10 as a usb dac
This amp really steps up the quality and volume of music from my iDevices. Now that I have this, listening to music without it is simply boring and unimpressive.
Excellent DAC/amp combo. Works great with my iPhone 6s (with the camera adapter) to feed my Jbl Srl305's as well as my headphones. Really nice dac for the money, sounds way way better and fuller than the phones built in dac.
This was my "toe in the water" attempt at improving my daily music listening experience. I have zero reference for other portable or stationary amps, but this has absolutely done what it said it would do--improve the music clarity and detail and combines well with both in-ear and over-ear headphones...
Straight up didn't work. It's a headphone amp and it failed to amplify the signal whatsoever. I thought it would be good because it had good reviews but obviously not.

I'm not going to write an extensive review comparing to other models, music types or specs..... to put it simply, every headphone I plug in has a more pronounced soundstage, clearer and detailed. The 'bass boost' was a must for my open back office cans.
Bought to complement the excellent FiiO mp3 player it also works well with other digital equipment. In my opinion it works best with good quality headphones and and is particularly helpful with static listening situations.
