We’ve been eagerly waiting for the arrival of the FiiO E12 portable amplifier ever since we first heard about it from Marcus of Headfonics . The reason is because we’ve had a few high powered cans like the HiFiMan HE-4 parked in the Unbox HQ and we didn’t have the budget to purchase amplifiers worth...
I ordered this amp to use with my AKG K702 headphones and Fiio X5 as th X5 didn't have enough power. The E12A works great. Excellent sound from headphones now!
Great portable amp that is poweful. No background noise or hiss. Very well built with a very long battery life. The sound is amazing clears things up adds space detail and neutral sound profile imo. Overall for the price it a a amazing deal.
Have experience as a recording engineer [predominantly classical music], collect older audio gear, spend most of my time at work listening to music on portable devices via Sony MDR - V6 headphones. Until a couple of months ago, was listening to a 6th gen I-Pod Nano.

I'm extremely happy with this for use with all my headphones. Even the AKG 701's sound great if not crazy loud they will play good and loud. My Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus are flat out perfect with this amp.
Adds the much needed punch to drive my over ear headphones from my phone or tablet. I even used this to boost the signal from my phone to the older stereo in the garage to run Pandora.
