Our story begins, oddly enough, with Norlin-era Gibson in 1980, where engineer Tim Shaw was tasked with designing a humbucker that would restore the company’s Les Paul and ES-335 reissues to some shade of their former glory.

It's a 2003 model. I got it used at ***Hot Licks Guitars and Music Gear*** in Aiea, Hawaii (shameless plug. It's where I work). I paid $350 for it. I couldn't pass it up for that price here in Hawaii.
