The Epson LS300 is good for watching movies. It's very bright, so it performs well in bright rooms. While it doesn't have a wide color gamut, colors pop due to the projector's brightness. Its contrast is alright, so its blacks are slightly raised when viewed in a dark room.

Very bright., Excellent color accuracy nearly out-of-the-box., Has a full suite of smart features with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth., Ultra Short Throw projector that can be placed very close to the wall or screen.

Doesn't have any calibration features for color accuracy purists.
There's no arguing that the unit, from a hardware perspective, is great. The brightness, colors, sound, etc., are great. From a software perspective, this product still runs Android 9.0, there's no firmware updates, and is not on the same software cycles as Android.
Purchased this projector for a outdoor screen room for movie nights in the back yard. Picture is clear and speakers are surprisingly better than i expected. I was expecting them to just be "there" with surround sound being the expected method. However they are pretty dang good.

WOW. Just wow I REALLY do love epson and I love what they did with this projector. It's the best UST in it's class and price range but 1 HUGE issue if not paired with a UST ALR screen is that you tend to need to run it in 85% or higher light output which in turn. Turns this thing into a mini jet.
I bought the projector about a month ago. The picture looks amazing, but the throw was a bit disappointing. I initially was expecting to get a 120 inch picture but was unable to achieve that due to how far back I needed to pull the projector from the wall.
Setup can be challenging but picture is awesome, even in daylight. I would recommend this projector. We have 120in screen and projector is set up on our electric fireplace about 16 in from the screen.
This is my first experience with a projector and my family was blown away with how great the picture quality was. And I don’t think I’ve fully used it’s capabilities to the extent they I can (yet!) Once the projector is in position and powered, turn it on, and the setup instructions are displayed.
Bought this yesterday through Best Buy. Got it in today. ITS THE BEST EPSON PROJECTOR IVE OWNED! I’m still keeping my other one, but this is taking its place. Very bright even with all my lights on. The speakers in the projector are PHENOMENAL! Performs just as well as my soundbar!
There are many variables that will impact the picture quality (screen, wall, lighting, etc) but overall even under less than ideal conditions the picture is impressive. The sound is more than adequate unless you demand the high end bass and sound separation.
I just purchased this a couple of days ago..very difficult to set up remote. Takes about 10 tries before remote gets connected.. None of the apps are working. Instructions suck. There's no real manual just some big pieces of papers without any clear instructions.
