Best purchase in a long time!
WOW!!! Awesome in every way - the suction is seriously unbelievable and it is so light with GREAT battery power! I waited to buy this because of the price, but with a golden retriever and a busy little boy, I decided to get it and it is worth every penny! Don’t delay even one second more - if you can do it, buy it today!! There is no dust swirling around because the filtration is so awesome!!
The day after we got it, my husband was taking out the compost and the bag failed. So eggshells and coffee grounds were everywhere! He said it took him about 3 min to clean up as our new Dyson took care of it all. Thank you Dyson for making such great products!!!

Great Tool For Cleaning
Originally I bought the V15 and Gen5Detect as I didn't know which one I wanted. After trying both, for me it was an easy decision. The Gen5Detect you do not have to hold the trigger to vaccumn which is really nice. They all should have that feature. I did not even notice with weight difference in the two machines. The suction power of the Gen5Detect is awesome. The battery run time is fantastic. Then only thing I would improve upon is a bigger head for solid surface floors to make the job go quicker. I have ordered the head form the Gen5Outsize to put on the Gen5Detect which will work great I hope. So far very pleased with the machine

Beautifully designed but needs longer battery life
I love the forward thinking design of your products, the quality and how they are amazingly built to last. I have owned a few corded Dyson vacuums over the span of 15 years that have worked amazingly well. I recently decided that I would splurge and buy my first cordless: the Gen5detect Absolute. Bottom line: For me the vacuum works best on full power but the problem is I have a 1200 sq ft apt and the battery only lasts 15 minutes on full power vs 45 minutes on auto power. So, for that reason alone, I'm afraid I have returned it. The lackluster battery life does not warrant the exorbitant price. When you design a battery that lasts longer on full power, I would be happy to test it out again. Until then, I'll stick with my corded Dyson vac.

Frustrating in 2 ways.
I bought the Gen5 Detect because I thought I could run the vacuum for an hour straight. But it actually only runs for 30 minutes (or less if you use the boost mode occasionally). You have to buy a 2nd battery in order to vacuum for any length of time beyond 30 minutes. For a 1600 square foot home, 30 minutes doesn't cut it.
It's also frustrating to use because it's so darn HEAVY!! I would have tolerated the heaviness if it could run longer than 30 minutes but the combination of heavy plus short clean times ..... makes this vacuum not worth the price. I would recommend buying a cheaper, lighter version and save yourself the frustration of having to wait to charge and having wrist cramps.

I had the V10 before I purchased this vacuum and it took a little bit to get used to the switch. The vacuum is heavier but that is really the only con. I love not having to hold a trigger anymore and being able to just go. This vacuum has so much more suction, I had to play around with the levels on my carpet because the suction was so much that the roller head would get caught in the carpet. After figuring out the settings on different floors, this vacuum has been a dream and I can tell a big difference in how much it picks up. Highly recommend if you have the budget to spend!

So disappointed, I’ve love Dyson cordless!!!
I’ve been waiting to write this review. Im a dyson Princess. Complete Dyson brat. I’ve owned multiple cordless models (v15 is the IT vacuum and I stand by the basic V8 as being in second place). I was so excited for the absolute gen5. There is a design flaw :/
Similar to the slim / light models, this vacuum constantly clogs. There is a feature where the hand vacuum attachment lives inside the tube of the vauum always so that you can quickly go from hand vacuum to actual vacuum. I was so excited. Well, because the attachment to make the vacuum a hand essentially lives inside the tube of the vacuum, this vacuum too gets clogged constantly. I had to unclog it 5 times in one vacuum before. So disappointed because I was looking forward to a new dyson!

Incredible Suction Power and Convenience!
I've had this vacuum for a few weeks now, and it's already one of my best purchases of the year. I've tried several lower-cost stick vacuums in the past, but none of them compare to the suction power of this one!
I originally bought it for our kitchen and breakfast area because my kids are constantly making a mess. This vacuum sucks up everything they throw at it with ease. It's so efficient that I've started using it in other areas too: on my hardwood floors, rugs, and everything in between.
While my main Dyson is a powerhouse, this vacuum is incredibly convenient for quick clean-ups. It's perfect for those in-between times when you don't want to haul out your larger, plug-in vacuum.

One use before breaking
Carpet head worked once. Called support and told they need to replace it but don’t have any in stock. Said I would get an email in 6 days when it is back in stock and to call for replacement. Still no email. Still saying no stock. The soft roller works well and being used but I bought for the carpet head
