DON'T BUY THIS MODEL, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND IT
It quit working after 5 weeks. I contact Dyson, it does come with a 2 year warranty. They advise, they will send a shipping label and to send it back to them for diagnosis and repairs. I receive the email confirming my repair and a note I will be receiving the shipping label. NEVER RECEIVE the label. I reach back out, asking for the label, only to be told, they don't take service returns for this "cordless" model and I need to diagnose it with them over the phone. Now mind you, it will not charge, nor hold a charge, it has NO POWER. They refuse to help me. SO I OWN AN EXPENSIVE DYSON THAT DOES NOT WORK.

SAVES ME A LOT OF ENERGY!!
I love my V8 Absolute. This is the first stick vacuum I’ve had and it’s a god send being disabled. I am coming from a canister (turtle) vac that always banged into me and everything else. It was also to heavy for me at this point. The V8 is amazing. The two heads it comes with along with the attachments are great.
It unfortunately does have a short battery life. Using it on low lasted about 20 minutes for me. I am being sent a replacement battery since it’s supposed to last longer than that. I appreciate that.
But I would recommend this machine to everyone. Thank you Dyson for making my life much easier but saving me a lot of energy.

Would be better with stronger battery
I bought this because my entire home is hardwood floor and I love that it gets the job done, cleans our floors way better than sweeping.
Unfortunately the battery life is extremely frustrating and makes me regret not getting a cord vacuum. I can only vacuum about 2 small/medium sized rooms before the battery dies, and then I have to wait at least 4 hours for it to be charged enough to vacuum 2 more rooms and so forth.. This is really frustrating when I am trying to clean my floors, takes about 2 days of using/charging, using/charging etc. I’m super disappointed for my first Dyson experience.

Everything is fantastic, except the hand grip.
I have had my Dyson for about 3 weeks and absolutely love its performance, maneuverability, filtration, and rechargeable battery. My only complaint is that the handle does not seem to be designed ergonomically and is not very comfortable. The power button must be held down by the forefinger continuously and there is constant pushing forward and backward of the vacuum, causing a blister on the outside of my right forefinger at the first joint and there is irritating contact between the handle and the top of my right thumb, which is close to causing another blister. This is an unpleasant result and might be mitigated with changes in the design of the handle.

Great vacuum, not great battery life
I have been waiting to buy a cordless Dyson vacuum for so long that when I finally got it I was thrilled. I immediately started charging it while I hung the holder and organized all of the accessories (a lot). When I got to start vacuuming I was loving it until the battery died shortly after. Hmmm. Not thrilled with the battery life.
The other issues include the "trigger" not having a lock feature so that you don't have to constantly press the button. I also noticed that I have been developing a blister where I hold the vacuum in the crook of my thumb.
In conclusion I like the vacuum cleaner but I wouldn't recommend it especially considering the price it costs .

Design
This was given to me as a Christmas gift. Initially I was thrilled it was a Dyson. Upon opening and putting it together, I realized two things that were huge disappointments. One is the charging station has to be hung on the wall with screws. It does not have a free standing stand to keep it upright. Secondly, to keep the vacuum running, you have to keep the power button pushed in the entire time. There is no “on” button. My hands are arthritic and this is not helpful for me. I have been so very disappointed in the overall design of this vacuum but can’t return or exchange it because it was a gift.

Great Cordless Vacuum
I have used a corded Dyson vacuum for years! They are built to last. I have been using another cordless brand for smaller floor or upholstery cleaning but it does not clean to my liking. This Dyson cordless works so mush better! It still isn’t as powerful as my corded Dyson, but much, much better than the other cordless I had. The cons of this vacuum for me are: 1. Time to recharge after use. 2. Running time per charge. 3. Need to hold the “power button” in order to run the vacuum. The pros of the vacuum are: 1. Excellent suction for a cordless. 2. Easy emplty dirt bin. 3. Docking station for vacuum and tools. 3. Light weight.

The vacuum itself is fine. I gave a low rating because it does not come with a paper manual. I do realize that the information is available “on line” but that is HORRIBLY INCONVENIENT!! It’s MUCH FASTER to just grab a paper manual and look quickly. I HATE having to grab my tablet/computer turn it on and search for the website. By the time I do that I could have already answered my question by simply LOOKING AT A BOOK. P. S…….not EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO THE INTERNET!! I do but there are still millions of people without that option. You make enough money on your products to be able to afford printing manuals for your products. VERY DISAPPOINTING !!
