Works great as a laptop bag... even better as a travel photography camera bag... The 802 is my favorite out of all the Domke bags... I can leave a 70-200 or 100-400 on the camera, and I don't worry about anything falling out of my bag...
F-802 perfect partner for the Classic Shooters' bag in these digital times. Ideal briefcase and laptop bag, though it could do with more internal padding for laptop. Effectively creates portable office/photo editing work station for travel. Absolutely indestructible.
This is one of Domke's legacy products that's smallish, fairly light and good for transporting stuff that doesn't require padding. Domke accurately calls this a "Reporter's Satchel" and not a "Photographer's Satchel.
This is a very well made, well-organized, lightweight bag. I use it as a laptop briefcase. My only complaint is that the strap is not removable, which means I will have to cut it off if I want to use a different one.
I love the quality of all of my Domke camera bags, so I bought F-802 bag to transport my new Gaming /editing laptop computer. I gave it 4 stars, as I wish it had an additional deep zippered rear pocket, and wish they would replace the spring clip with a quick release.
I can't sing high enough praises for this as a daily carry if you only carry light equipment (one long and one prime) and whatever else you need. A small computer, a notebook, hardrive, peripherals. I can't live without this bag, but don't thk of it as a primary photo bag.
It's made of stout, high-quality canvas that'll last forever and improve with age. Unlike nylon bags, it won't slide out of place but instead stays where you put it. The shoulder strap is comfortably wide and reassuringly strong, and the rubber woven into it keeps the bag on your shoulder.
I use this as a professional briefcase, carrying my big PC notebook computer, pens, paper notebook, and that kind of stuff for daily trips. The look is thin, the briefcase comfortable, and is built just as tough as any Domke product. I think the 802 is a solid briefcase.
a 15" (mid 2015) mackbook pro fits snugly in the front sleeve pocket. I can fit a Canon 5D mark IV with lens and extra lens in main pocket. I like the smallest back possible for this set up. This is perfect.
I like my F-803 and J-803 so much that I decided to get this bag as a briefcase. It's a little larger than I would have liked, but it is very strong and comfortable to carry. The one thing that bothers me is that the rigid support across the top of the flap (where the handle is) is made of flimsier...
