But the point isn’t that one of them is better than the other, rather that here are two truly exceptional amps in the roughly same price bracket - yet they have immediately recognisable differences in character. So that’s now three of Denon’s AVR-X amps we’ve seen and, given the results so far, we’re...
Great power, big punch, Great balance despite rich midrange and plenty of bass, Fast and dynamic
This is a great AVR with more than enough power for a layman's 7.2 home theater. It has all the features found in a modern Full 4K AVR. The sound quality has exceeded my expectations, especially since this is my first foray into Denon AVRs. It sounds great!
Ease of use, nice graphic interface, and low frequency containment

Purchased this few weeks ago and I’m happy with the product it sounds great
High quality sound and video. Lots of great features. In built Heos which is useful, but WiFi keeps on dropping
Researched my choice over several months, chopping and changing as I read one review after another. Certainly happy that I did as I watch an equal amount of movies much as I listen to music and the quality of sound has not let me down on either count.
A considerable upgrade on the Onkyo being replaced. Separation of sounds now being heard that the old system wasn't providing. Fantastic upgrade.
As always with new technology, there is a lot to take in, menus to understand and a multiplicity of leads to connect. However, once done, it fills the bill very nicely. I hope it's more reliable than my Onkyo was!
Very easy to set up with the supplied mic and stand. Films suddenly take on a different dimension in both sound and vision.Superb piece of kit.
I was suprised in how much my speakera are actually able to deliver, this amp has changed the music, movie experience all together, audessy does a fantastic job with setting up the distance, volume and all the rest.
I bought this unit to replace a 10 year old Onkyo SR-875. The Onkyo had a left rear channel down and the right rear channel very noisy, the changeover was very straight forward and the difference was immediate. The set up was easy and having wifi was a bonus with streaming music, very impressed.
