Great unit even though I didn't buy it for a home theater. I have it in my kitchen and connected to the ceiling speakers, outdoor speakers, and a flat screen tv. I use the Bluetooth function a lot and like the fact that I can separate the speaker by 'zones'.
It says spotify on it but you can only play pandora. Missleading also there is nothing online that i looked for how to help you sent up the equipement the best way.
So far so good. Love the auto setup, plenty of power, wifi, bluetooth works without a hitch FM comes in clearly using the supplied antenna. Haven't had any of the lockups some reviewers have mentioned but can confirm the HDMI upconvert and switching issues most fixed by changing the settings.
I have bought a Yamaha Rx677 around Dec of 2014 and thought it was OK but not great. Had problems with the Yamaha when switching stations with long delays with a blank screen. Anyways I bought the Denon S900W and feel its head and shoulders above the Yamaha.
Had absolutely no trouble with setup, the initial internet update went off without a hitch, was kinda wary from reading some of the reviews. Running Klipsch Quintets and a Klipsch SW-350 sub and everything sounds great. Very satisfied.
I have purchaed many receivers in the past: Sony, Yamaha, Onkyo, Harmon Kardon. But of all the receivers I've used in the past, this is the only problematic receiver I've ever encounter in my life!!! I cannot believe that Denon would put out such a horrible product. The problems I had with it: 1.
Cycles on and off repeatedly every approximately 15 second.
One year after purchase one of the HDMI input doesnt work. Be aware of 4K!!!!!!!! Doesn't not supporting newest HDCP 2.2 standard.... This receiver is a joke.
Everything went bad after 1 year of use. No return audio Both optical input broke
This receiver has worked as advertised until about three months ago. When I bought a new 4K TV (Sony XBR 930D) the HDMI on the unit quit working. Now the only way I can get audio from my TV and movies is to use the TOSLINK output of the TV to the receiver and connect all of my equipment to the TV...
