Before the arrival of gaming-targeted hardware and nearly a decade before Razer, there stood a company whose magazine ads left gamers longing. Alienware has been in the business since the era of Doom and floppy disks, so it’s surprising to see them drag their feet with the monitor market –...
For years the Alienware brand has been synonymous with high-end but pricy pre-built gaming desktops and laptops, but over the last few months Dell - which bought Alienware in 2006 - has moved the brand towards the accessories market.
A review of the Alienware AW2518HF, a 240Hz monitor that demonstrates the massive cost gap between Free-Sync and G-Sync gaming screens.
has long been synonymous with high-end, albeit pricey, pre-built gaming desktops and laptops, but over the last few months Dell ( , we heard how Alienware plans to "own the room" with mice, keyboards and monitors in addition to desktops and laptops; the idea being that gamers will never have to use...
Bought 3 of these to upgrade my battlestation and couldn't be more pleased. It is like that time you went from a mechanical harddrive to a solid state harddrive and your world changed.
I got this for my son as he has an Alienware gaming computer so of course he wanted the matching, high end monitor! What I didn't know was that it is on OLED whereas most of the rest with the great refresh rate and super fast processing so there is no lagging, (the bane of every gamer) but if you...
Sniped it on sale better than the other options at the same price point imo. I support the claim by saying I'm not a pro gamer sorry benQ and Asus is hit or miss. The USB hub option is a huge deal for me and the product quality is superb!
November 12, 2017 So I was gaming on an LG 4k monitor and never really got caught up in the high refresh rate fad.... until now. Holy cow. When I started gaming at 4k I thought I'd never look back.... that is again until now.
This gaming monitor is fantastic. It worked straight out of the box and attached easily to my desk swivel arm/mount. The colors are amazing, and my games play smoother than they did on my previous monitor.
240Hz is not a gimmick at all and it's truly something to behold if you ever get the chance. This is the monitors greatest feature, but it comes at a cost. I have a returned multiple high refresh rate monitors for one reason that plagues all the ones I've tried. Pixel Inversion.
I noticed 240 hz moving from 144hz. I play League of Legends and Starcraft. These are the best colors on a TN panel I've ever seen. A major step up from my Asus VG248QE which looks washed out and ancient beside this thing. The bezels are slim. The frame is sexy. 10 out of 10 would buy again.
A little pricey, but I have to say that this is an awesome gaming monitor. It has a rapid refresh rate along with smooth and responsive gameplay that makes it a must-have for your gaming. This would make a great gift for yourself or that gamer in your life.
Oh. Man. This monitor changed my gaming life. My previous monitors were 1080P 60hz. That, seemed at the time ok. They worked and I played well. Well folks, I have seen the light in all of its 240hz glory. Lets start with the packaging. It is packaged like a quality monitor. very sturdy and safe.
Bought for overwatch as my ultrawide only went to 100hz and overwatch does not fully support ultrawide The monitor is clearly only for fast paced competitive gaming it for that it excels. Image quality is fine otherwise but no better than a much cheaper TN panel @ 144hz.
