I have had this laptop for 3 days, and 2 hours after unpacking nothing would load and had to restart, and then a few hours after restart it just shutdown and restarted while in the middle of playing ARK, then the next day first thing in the morning it did it again.
nice design, fast when it wants to be, color customization is really nice
crashed out 2 times in 1 day, restarted on me 2 times in 2 days for no reason while in the middle of gaming and 1 time this morning when no one was around it, graphics aren't that great compared to my desktop with a lesser graphics card(not the graphics card problem in this case but the screens...
I just upgraded my 13x to a 15. I connect to a graphics Amplifier at home with a GTX 980. Both laptops, my 13 and 15 have been great. Reading some of the reviews I feel people need to understand that components can be or become defective at any time.
i tested out this product at a freinds house i personally would recomend this product ot anyone who wants it for gaming
First of all, let me say that I am a gamer. Have been since I was a kid (in my mid 30s now) and have wanted an Alienware for a LONG time.I finally got up $1k to buy a gaming laptop and started shopping. At the time that this computer was on sale for $1k due to $300 off. I instantly jumped on it.
It says 4k display but not even upto full HD.Sound it not clear.
Bought on black Friday, got a preconfigd system, no 4K, no 970, battery refused to charge more than 4%, pros, every port u could ever want, cons, its a tank, and I could not switch to high resolution graphics. it could not find the graphics card. either a sloppy build, or a previous return.
Well, I had for exactly one week then it just died. Could power up. Checked dell support website. Only possible cure would be removing battery. Uh, I don't so. Really nice laptop. All things being equal, I would go for the R3 with the 4k screen.
The keyboard stopped working after 5 minutes, did not boot upon restart ..Had to return the Christmas gift!
I bought this over the Thanksgiving holiday when it was discounted $1000. I've had it for almost 2 weeks now, and have been playing Overwatch on it -- I have to say that I'm very satisfied with the purchase.I haven't run into any of the issues detailed in the other reviews here.
This is not a true Alienware system. It's an over priced Dell. Mine crashed within 3 days of owning it. Ordered it with RAID 0 configuration and when it crashed found that it was a RAID 1. Support team is lacking in the most basic of knowledge.
