Not food safe
This small fridge is only good for storing things, like soda pop, that won't go bad if kept above 40 degrees for extended periods of time. Once the internal temperature reaches the set point, it stops cooling and waits until the internal temperature rises about 10 degrees before starting to cool again. (monitored over two days without opening the door) Since the fridge works by just cooling a plate at the back, the plate can actually freeze and freeze anything in contact with the plate. I'm a bit disappointed.

Coldest setting is WARM
Coldest temperature is still WARM. Using this fridge for food will lead to food-borne illness. It doesn't get cold enough. I even put ice inside to help it along but that just melted. I've had experience with 2 of these units in hotel rooms and they all sucked just the same. This is the perfect unit for those hotels who don't want you to be able to store food but offer it anyway although they really want you to pay expensive prices at restaurants. Now they can say that they offer you a refrigerator but in reality it's not cold enough to maintain anything at a safe temperature.

Mini Fridge
The first mini fridge I bought in April 2015 lasted about 4 months. It had a defect and the place I bought it exchanged it for another Danby in August. So far, this fridge is working fine. I hope that the first one was just a fluke but only time will tell. However, the company seems to stand behind their products, which is a good sign that in general their projects are reliable.

Perfect Small Fridge
We use this as a garage fridge to hold extras. It's a perfect fridge and keeps things at the ideal temperature, even during the summer when the ambient garage temperature was in the 90's.
