If there's a drone that can claim ownership of consumer airspace, it's DJI's Phantom. The company's white, 4K-camera-toting quadcopter is the Prius of the skies; hip, accessible, and ubiquitous. Chat with a drone pilot at your local park, there's a good chance they're flying a Phantom.

Automated flight features make it possible to fly places and get shots previous models could not. It's harder to crash into stuff, with is safer for you and for your wallet. Insanely fast sport mode is a ton of fun. Camera improvements make for better 4K video.

The batteries have changed shape again. If you're upgrading, you'll need buy new batteries again too. Collision detection could be better. You lose the object avoidance powers if you snap on the optional prop guards.
The 3D Robotics Solo drone offers aerial tools for cinematographers to get stunning shots with a GoPro action camera, but it's held back by a weak GPS and short battery life.

Gimbal stabilizes and powers GoPro., Repeatable Smart Shots., Capable of smooth, automated gimbal tilt adjustment., Return-to-home safety feature., Control app works with iOS and Android devices.

Short battery life., Spotty GPS., Drifts when hovering.
Yep, it's not cheap, but DJI has made one of the smartest drones available with the Phantom 4.

The DJI Phantom 4 is a very polished drone compared to its competition, and for those who've flown a quad before, you'll have no trouble getting started with this one. The new Sport mode lets you get to your location faster or just have some fun.

The Obstacle Sensing System only sees things in front of the drone. You still need a tablet or phone ready to go along with the controller and drone battery. Extra batteries are expensive.
Novice pilots will love the simple control and flying of the Phantom 4, and experienced pilots will like the power and speed.

Longer battery life, Faster flight, Excellent image quality, App is straightforward and easy to use

Collision avoidance is not foolproof, Some modes disable collision avoidance, Flight modes are confusing, Occasionally catches sight of itself in video, Expensive
Hands up. I admit it. The first time I ever flew a drone solo, I crashed it into a tree. It was the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+, and when the aircraft eventually hit the ground (with a sickening crunch) the camera was wrecked.
Packed with new technology and updated features, the DJI Phantom 4 is better than ever — it's the most capable drone you can buy
In terms of drone photography and video, the DJI Phantom 4 is one of the best available, with a stylish design and magnesium core for strength. As DJI are one of the leading and most popular brands in the consumer drone industry, it makes sense that the 4th version of the Phantom would perform...
If you don’t have a drone already we recommend you get one, and if you have the budget for it, we highly recommend the DJI Phantom 4 for its all-round great performance whether it’s taking pictures, recording videos and following moving objects.

Steadiness, Video & picture quality, Easy to control

The Phantom 4 is unquestionably DJI’s best drone yet. It shoots decent quality 4K video and is easier to control than ever before. Batteries are very expensive, though, and the intelligent modes still don’t quite match those you’ll get with a 3DR Solo which, in our opinion, is still the better...
Not just a simple step up – the Phantom 4 is a massive leap forward for drones that should open the doors to everyone

Obstacle detection and automatic modes means it practically flies itself, Still the easiest drone to use, even in Sport mode, Fantastic camera and an even better gimbal

Low light still a challenge, Lack of model choice
Talking about entry level Semi-Pro drone, Phantom 4 is the drone you must try your hands on. If Inspire or other professional models costs bomb to your pocket, P4 is the one which will deliver super results in relatively lessor price ( as compared to prices for pro drones ) There are some good...
Really like this new model Phantom. The optics on the camera perform better and are definite improvement over previous models. More stable in the air than the P3, smoother flying. The obstacle avoidance feature, though not perfect, is certainly an advantage over not having it.
I read the manuals, and online tutorials and am starting out slow to get the feel of this excellent device. The software has a lot of information, so this will take a bit to learn, but so far, so good.
The Phantom 4 has really met my expectations on all points minus he camera for photography. Video, ease of flying, fun factor are all great!
I've been wanting one of these for quite some time this company has a cheaper than anybody else I am very happy with it I am learning all that it can do
