In this day and age, it’s hard to find a smartphone that can’t record 1080p video, and all flagship phones have been able to capture 4K video for at least a year or two. While that gives us super high resolution files, it doesn’t necessarily mean your videos will look silky smooth.
Some people like shaky video. It’s often employed to give a film an ad hoc or documentary feel to it.

DJI OSMO Mobile is a gimbal for those looking to up their smartphone video game.
The latest Osmo does away with a camera and allows you to use your phone’s camera to take stabilised videos, and it’s a lot cheaper, too. Here's our DJI Osmo Mobile review
First off, I’m going to talk about what I would like to see improved on the DJI Osmo Mobile. If you’re recording video on your smartphone, make sure it has lots of memory. You’ll also soon realize that the battery on the Osmo Mobile is going to out last the one inside your phone, so if DJI can...
Awesome footage, but iphone 7plus gets hot easily, extremely hot.a bit sad...
Learning to use the Osmo mobile. I am finding some peformance inconsistencies. I am not sure whether or not it is going to be as useful as I had hoped. Still working on figuring out the kinks and deciding if it is worth keeping.
When it is balanced and seems to be in an agreeable position, it snaps to attention and is very responsive. I am using it strictly for Zillow Walkthroughs so I'm no advanced video to scrutinize.
It seems a little flakey about positioning itself. Sometimes it works and other times, it does not appear to be responsive.
Was somewhat impressed by the product. It did it's job well giving you smooth video footage. Tried it with the stock phone camera, the dji go app and filmic pro. Filmic pro was my best experience even though it didn't have all the features as dji go.
Smooth footage and great tool
Dji go app
Very robust design but it lacks easy packing. Needs a padded bag for travelling. It's not very compact for travelling as this is supposed to be a stabilised alternative to 'selfie stick'
Have a phantom 4 pro. Love it. No, I adore it. But DJI you lost me with the Osmo mobile. IPhone 8 plus. 7 plus. We now know the Osmo mobile doesn't work as designed with these. And another point you now know about. Most us operate our phones protected.
