I recently had a contractor doing some work for us, who, after seeing my ‘scope room’, mentioned that he too had a scope and maybe I could have a look at it as it didn’t seem to be performing……at all. So of course, I said yes, I mean what is better than being able to take apart someone else’s scope?
Very impressed I’ve seen Venus (picture below), Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn so far! I can’t even find a better picture of Venus online that’s not edited! Amazing!
My expectations were really high after reading the reviews but still it was difficult to accept that such an inexpensive telescope could deliver excellent results. It has surpassed my expectations.I would recommend the celestron or meade 8-24mm zoom eyepiece.
I recommend this scope. The main telescope and tripod is good quality. Just be prepared to by better lenses.

Lenses included with telescope are poor quality. Finderscope is cheap.
Scope was a little difficult to set up. But still worth it. Lens are strong which is good. A great buy for the money...tripod included. Definitely recommend
Everything was well presented to put together and set up. Useful for sky watching for the price. The Celestron Starry Night software is a marvelous side benefit great simulation and very detailed down to Cassini, asteriods if it is known it is there.
If you are expecting to get Hubble quality images, you won't. If you are expecting to get a finely, hand crafted, precision instrument, you don't. However, it is a fine scope for the money. The mount is a bit sloppy. The tripod a little wobbly.
I bought this as a present for my kid who likes science. He is still trying and learning about it. Lets see how he grades it in a month
The telescope comes with a counter weight that is way too heavy. I am using one only a fraction of the weight so I do not strip the gears in the equatorial alt -azimuth mount. The screw holes in the mount were too small and I had to do some light fabrication to make them larger.
Surprisingly powerful and easy to use for the price I paid
As an amateur astronomer, a beginner. I require assistance in setting up and using this scope. I knew this from the beginning. Am joining a star gazer group for moral and technical help. I found out that my telescope is stronger than what most have now. Plus it's motor drive adaptable.
