(1) Thiswas my 3rd scope in 18 months. I quickly got tired of the 90mm scope and after 4 months bought the Celestron 127SLT. Loved that scope but after one year had to get the Celestron 8SE. This is my last scope for a long time, maybe ever.

So far I am impressed. The weather has not cooperated. So my actual experience is limited. The instructions are good and easy to follow. And what images I have experienced are without equal.

The 8 SE is a compromise. The OTA works well enough, but dew is a constant headache. The mount can work well, although never on a consistent basis. Mount also appears to be overloaded with this OTA.I hung a weight opposite the OTA and vibration and noise were considerably lessened. It is certainly easy...

I was no longer able to lift my 10" reflector to set it up outside so I donated it and purchased the NextStar. So much lighter and easier to carry, and what a difference with automatic skewing vs having to manually locate the tube of my 10" on an object.

Having a 40 year old Celestron telescope C8, I appreciated my new Celestron NexStar 8 SE telescope with it's computerized drive to easily locate the planets and stars. The new telescope has gotten better over the course of time and it's a great bargain for what you get.

Setting up the computer is difficult if trees limit what you can focus on, plus it takes too long. It would be nice if it has a quick-track option whereby you could center an object, push a button, and 5 minutes later center it again and push a button, and the scope would know which direction to...

Great Scope! Good for overall use; i.e. deep space and planetary. Strong construction and great optics. Recommended.
