8.0/10

Nice goto telescope. Good optics and views. Sturdy tripod. Reliable motors. Fairly lightweight design compared to my 10 inch dob. Tracks objects well enough. Provided Celestron 25mm plossl is good. The whole thing packages up nicely for transportation while camping.

It has been cloudy ever since receiving the scope.I had great difficulty aligning the Star Pointer with the main scope. The Pointer would not adjust enough to center. It took some "creative adjustments to make it work.

The sky align feature makes this telescope so easy to use. I picked three random stars to align the scope. The controller calibrated my location. Within minutes I was looking at Jupiter and its moons. Amazing!!

I have owned a Meade ETX90EC and a Meade ETX125EC, and neither one of them seemed to be as accurate is this telescope for go-to viewing. I also think the optics in this are every bit as good as the Meade telescopes.

I purchased this telescope because I am not that knowledgeable about the position of some of the objects in the night sky that I wanted to see. My old telescope was hard to observe thru and very frustrating so I wanted an easier observing tool.

I bought my NexStar 6SE about 9 months ago, trading in my old Meade ETX 70. This was a few months before S & T published their review. I fully concur with their findings. The first night I used the 6SE, it only took me a couple minutes to get the finder aligned with the scope image.

I think I made the right choice choosing this as my FIRST telescope. It's pretty light, easy for carrying. I recommend watching a couple videos on the hand control/go-to feature. The dew shield and wall outlet power adapter are a must. My friends and I are very pleased with the purchase!

It is perfect for basic and intermediate astronomy observation. I would not recommend it the photography applications even though it is possible.

Have been recently using mine for wildlife photography by hooking up my D850 to it. Obviously no autofocus available only manual but pretty impressed with what I got from 112 yards.

I am an amateur astronomy enthusiast who always wanted a go-to computerized scope. Celestron Nexstar 6SE met all my needs and expectations - the scope quality is fabulous, the tripod is sturdy, the setup instructions are accurate and I managed to see more in my first night of using the scope than I...
